Making a texture mod for DAO

I've changed a few of the flora textures (the .tga files for the speed tree models. The packed file is called speedtreetools.erf)

 

I've put the changed .tga files in the root of:

 

C:\Users\username\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override

 

However they dont seem to show up in the game.

 

I've also tried creating a .override package using the DAO modmanager 1.9d

 

Also no change if i add my mod using the built in utility (override creator) and then activate it (mod manager says it's "compatible).

 

 

Does the level need to be reloaded for textures to show up, or does it even require a new game?

 

Any help would be great, thanks.
