ThatDude444
Can someone make a Vault Security Armor with some additions to it? But no reskins or anything. I already have a good skin of the vault security armor and i love it. The additions I'm talking about is simple. If you can increase the DR/DT to 15 and make its condition un-degradable, and rename it to The Security Armor that would be nice. Thanks!
Gribbleshnibit8
Those are all very easy changes that would take mere minutes to complete. Using the freely available GECK, you can create a new file that edits the armor to be what you want. Download the program (make sure you get the FO3 version). Install it, and then launch the program. In the File menu, choose Data Files, and in the window that pops up, double click on the Fallout3.esm file. Click OK and wait for the program to finish loading everything. Once it's loaded, in the "Object Window", expand the "Items" category, and then click on the "Armor" category. The list on the right side of that window should now show all the armors in the game. In the filter box you can type in 'Security' to filter down to just security armor. Now find the armor you want to edit and double click on it. It might take a moment for the new window to open. This is all the data related to that piece of armor. Find the DR field and change it to what you want. Find the health field and change it to something crazy high, like 999999. Then in the name field, give it the name you want. Unless you want every instance of that armor to be your new armor (meaning that any vault personnel wearing them would be amazingly tough), you should also change the EditorID field to something new. Then click the OK button, and when it asks if you'd like to make a new object, say yes. Now you've got a new armor, with your new stats and name. You just need to find a place to put it in the game. So below the Object Window is the Cell Window. It lists all the cells and world spaces in the game. By default, it lists all interior cells. So find one you like, that's easy to get to. Megaton somewhere is usually the easiest, probably the player house. Double click on the cell name, once you find it, and wait for the game to load the cell in the Render Window. Once it has loaded, the second column of the Cell Window will list every item in the cell. Double click one to center the Render Window on that item. The mouse controls the movement in the render window. The wheel zooms in and out, and holding Shift will let you rotate around the currently selected object. Zoom out and find a location you'd like to add the armor. Probably on the bed upstairs is the easiest place (you can ignore all the clutter around the house, that's for the themes, don't mess with any of it). Once you get up to the bed, go back to the Object Window and find the armor you made. Click it, and drag it into the Render Window to place it in the cell. Then just place it over the bed. Go to the tool bar at the top of the window and either go to File/Save, or click the floppy icon. Give your file a new name, and save it. Now you can close GECK, open your mod manager and check your new file, then load the game and head to your Megaton House. Go upstairs, and if you did everything correctly, there should be your armor sitting on the bed ready to wear.
