Lamp mod on weapon still on when holstered

There is a spotlight mod I can apply to a weapon I downloaded, and it has a really cool effect except for one problem. When the weapon is drawn, the spotlight still shines in front of me as though the weapon were drawn. Is there anything I can do to turn the spotlight off automatically when the weapon is holstered? Switching to another weapon fixes the issue, but the problem will persist as long as the item is equipped.
