Could someone tell me how to uninstall this mod.

I installed the Extra Dog Slot mod to get the wardog as a fifth character, I used DAO mod manager to install the dazip but my mod manager is bugged and I can't uninstall with it, so I need to manually uninstall the mod. It contained a few files that I have found and can easily delete them but the mod also contained a file called Manifest.xml, I don't know where that file is located and I don't know what to do regarding it.

 

Could someone tell me please how to manually uninstall that mod? It does not contain a readme or any information on how to do it.

EDS ReadMe is viewable/downloadable on the mod's page (under 'Docs' tab).

 

Absent a working mod manager (of which DAO-Modmanager is the best option, for DAO), to manually uninstall a DAzip installed mod:

 

1. delete the mod's folder from [user]\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\AddIns > in this case, the 'Extra_Dog_Slot' folder

2. delete the mod's ERF archive from [user]\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\data > 'Extra_Dog_Slot_package.erf'

3. Make a safe backup copy of your AddIns.XML file (found in [user]\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings), and then use a low-level text editor (like Notepad) to manually delete the mod's entry >

Be careful not to remove or alter any other text, and take care that you do not change the file extension when saving the edited XML!

 

Oh, and the Manifest.XML contained the information written to Addins.XML, and is not actually 'installed' as a file.

 

Prior to uninstalling Extra Dog Slot, be aware that the summoned Dog must first be dismissed from the party! Uninstalling with 'Extra Dog' summoned will leave Dog in a sort of limbo non-interactable limbo, and should Dog die, he cannot be revived, but nor can he be unsummoned.
