Bobbyjoe121
I'm not new to the modding world by any means, I used to mod Oblivion all the time. Just downloaded Skyrim though, and it seems that when I load ANY sort of mod, I get a crash right after the "Bethesda" logo. I've seen this issue happen to people who have a plethora of mods loaded, but mine crashes by activating just one. I'm using Nexus Mod Manager, as I figured it would be simplest and most efficient, but alas. The 2K texture pack is activated, but isn't showing ingame, and the activation of a single mod causes a crash. Is this a common problem? Is there a solution? blitzen
That's odd. What is in your loadorder.txt and plugins.txt files? Did you check them? See how they look both with no mods added, and then afterward with a mod activated. Make sure that you didn't get that strange bug where there are two copies of Skyrim.esm or Update.esm listed, or something odd like that.

blitzen
For me, they are located in the C:\Users\<account name>\AppData\Local folder.
bben46
Not much info to go on here - Generic help in this link. Bobbyjoe121
Hey guys, thanks for the help. I fixed the problem by simply updating actually. Now I have a loading screen problem, loading screens take seemingly forever; that is, until I hit Ctrl+Alt+Del, switch to my desktop, and switch back to Skyrim. Works everytime, but I don't want to do that every time I get a loading screen -.-
