nhoclesnar
I have played the game version 1.7 Dawnguard for about a week now, and I found NPC mages overpowered. Mage players are too weak: too little magicka with too little damage, too vulnerable too, while the the NPC mages are clearly overpowered: too high damage, too high magicka, deadly accuracy that can one hit kill my character with full steel plate armor. I have come across most of the good and popular mods, but I haven't found one that reduce NPC mages power. In my opinion, NPC mages should have the same magicka as a mage player should, their damage should be the same as player's, their spells should match their level, and they should miss more if their level is lower. In other words, their accuracy would increase as they level, and they will have access to higher level spell as they level up as well. In my situation, I encountered a level 10 mage who shoots fireball to me furiously, and use chain lightning that can kill two giants instantly. Those are level 50 destruction skill, how can they get it so fast? NPC mages in the game are wayyyyy overpowered. Even a Master Vampire is smart enough not to mess with them. If you can fix this problem, then don't forget to fix the NPC mages perks too. It would be pointless if they don't kill you in one hit, but make you die slowly and painfully by stagger you with the dual cast perk. Unfortunately, I tried balanced magic but it doesn't work. If someone knows a mod that can fix this, or can create one, please leave a post here. I think it would benefit not just me, but many other people. I'm seriously tired of Esc, Load, die, then Esc, Load, and die over and over again. Edited September 20, 2012 by nhoclesnar
David Brasher
I don't know if there is a way to adjust accuracy of enemy ranged spells. The game engine is just really good at having enemy NPCs hit you with arrows and spells. The NPCs all tend to be better shots than player characters. This does not seem to be dependent on level or skill rating. So if the mod was built, the focus would probably have to be on what spells the NPCs have and how much magicka they have. Yeah I expected that too, so is there a mod that already did this? I found Skyrim really annoying and sometimes unplayable with all these mages around, and the Dragon Priest Guard is just awful. If a mod like this does not exist then I hope someone would make it come true.
nhoclesnar
I can't believe that after I searched almost every corner of the Skyrim Nexus website, I still haven't found any mod like this. People please reply and let me know if this is a good or a bad suggestion/request.
