theMrJ1032
When I went to update vortex to the 1.0 version around 2pm pst skeeyah decided to tag along and I went through a long process to remove it and idk if this is a 1 time thing or if vortex itself has the issue and wanted to know if anyone else noticed anything or not. rmm200
This has been reported in different threads a good half dozen times. It is most likely a Windows Defender false positive, and has been reported to the Windows Defenders folks. If you are concerned about it, wait until Windows Defender is updated.I have not heard of any virus reports from reputable AV programs like Kaspersky. BigBizkit
It's a false positive raised by Windows Defender scanning a Microsoft library of all things. Regardless of what you choose to do (quarantine/delete) it won't do any harm nor impact Vortex's functionality. This is an issue that is outside of our control that Microsoft needs to sort out, but it won't do any harm other than being unfortunate and a bit annoying.
