mramsey
So this is my first time trying to install mods in a game. I downloaded Vortex to make it easier on myself but things just aren't working out. I've been trying to download this armor mod for my female elf mage in Dragon Age: Origins (https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/3854?tab=description&BH=0 but the Lothering Warden one) and everything with Vortex goes smoothly--it downloads, I install it, then enable it as the tutorial video says. But when I actually enter the game the outfit doesn't show up anywhere. Thinking I was making some sort of mistake I also downloaded this companion gift mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/385) using Vortex and when I opened the game the companion gift mod was working. So I'm wondering if I'm making some sort of mistake and that's why the armor isn't appearing as well? Do I need to make a new character in order for it to appear? BigBizkit
Is this a replacement mod? (I am assuming so) Could you please: 1. Purge your mods in Vortex2. Open *documents/bioware/dragon age/packages/core/override3. Deploy your mods Does the file count for that folder increase? If so, the mod is being deployed correctly, if not it would indicate another issue.
mramsey
Yeah so the file counts for that folder increase but the armor mod still isn't appearing in game. Could that be because in override the companion gift mod files are all visible while the lothering warden armor has its own folder? Because the companion gift mod works. BigBizkit
Yeah, it seems like the mod isn't packed properly for use with Vortex. I don't have DAO to test, but it seems the contents of that folder would need to be put in the override folder.
mramsey
Alright so I'm manual downloading it into override and I have just one more question. When on the page it says steps for installation include enabling console and typing in runscript for the armor. Could you just explain to me what that means for PC? I'm very confused. Thank you for all your help!
