marioperson
Oh, sorry this is what I mean by skeleton outfit. :P http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Y-17_trauma_override_harness Oh yeah, the trauma suit, lots of fun. But yeah, I would think that's pretty easy, shouldn't be a problem. Oh never mind lol, I figured out, hmm could you do both?, or just one?, Well without the holographic element, I bet it's just Dean's suit, in gray scale with a high alpha. it's fine if it take's a bit I just really wanted more armor in dead money, but they didn't give very much, but if you will only do one, but I thought that the suit would be hologram but your skin wouldn't?, anyways if it's okay i'd like both, thanks dude :) Sure I can take a look at them. The way it's set up now the shader effect and flicker effect apply to teh whole actor (ie clothes, face, hand etc, the whole enchilada), as actor effects. I have no doubt that those actor effects can be converted (really just duplicating) to an object effect applied to just the armor. I don't really recommend it though, I think the effect wouldn't really "fit", since parts of you would be have the shader effect and flickering, but there wouldn't be anything underneath. But as far as having the suit and having the skin show through I have put something like that together, to create a holographic power armor. It involves two meshes, with the outermost having a high alpha (transparency) and I don't see why it wouldn't work for a tux over a body. But let me look at it and see how much extra work it would be. The other stuff (ie everything except the holograms) I should have for you over the weekend. Wait?, so would you put the holographic element into dean's suit?, cause if so that would be sick!I'm sorry I'm VERY confused by what you mean there's nothing underneath?, There naked?, and it's going to be power armor clothing?, ''Sure I can take a look at them. marioperson
Alright, sorry for asking so many questions, but I know nothing about this stuff, I'm a newbie, after all. So, here are my questions. (Will dean's outfit make you a hologram, does it have the hologram apperance, or will it just be gray?) Actaully, that's just one question, but... are you making 2 forms of the suit?, I'm so confused.
marioperson
I don't want a grayed scaled dean outfit, I want a dean hologram outfit, and one that turns you into one if that's what your curious about sorry some words, I don't understand are... - gray scale - The way it's set up now the shader effect and flicker effect apply to teh whole actor (ie clothes, face, hand etc, the whole enchilada), as actor effects. I have no doubt that those actor effects can be converted (really just duplicating) I don't want a dean suit that look's like this please. http://i.imgur.com/7wEet.png
devinpatterson
Wait?, so would you put the holographic element into dean's suit?, cause if so that would be sick! Yep, pondering it, and explaining how I would go about it. I'm sorry I'm VERY confused by what you mean there's nothing underneath?, There naked?, With a model, say for instance a actor in a Tux, if you delete the tux there is nothing underneath it. The game engine displays only what is visible, it is a way to optimize performance by *not* rendering something that is hidden. So when you have a mesh (a model), no one makes flesh under the tux. and it's going to be power armor clothing?, No, that was simply an example I have previously used, that combined two meshes. It shows how to have holographic attire over the players normal attire (in this case it was holographic armor). It is for illustration purposes only to help you understand the process. What do you mean by this anyways? Holograms have what is called an "actor effect", in this case it's the special effect on a hologram. It's the flickering, the blue scan lines etc. A actor effect covers/affects the whole actor. That's the way it's set up now, and if you used the actor effect your whole character would become holographic. But this "actor effect" can be made into an "object effect" that would only give a holographic effect to a piece of armor/clothing. I brought it up in case you wanted just the tux to be holographic instead of your whole character. But judging by your statement;I don't want a grayed scaled dean outfit, I want a dean hologram outfit, and one that turns you into one if that's what your curious about sorry some words, I'll just use the actor effect, and it will encompass all of your character. I don't understand are...- gray scale Gray scale is a black and white picture, ie shades of gray usually 256 levels. I wouldn't fixate on it, i'ts simply how the holograms textures are made. - The way it's set up now the shader effect and flicker effect apply to teh whole actor (ie clothes, face, hand etc, the whole enchilada), as actor effects. I have no doubt that those actor effects can be converted (really just duplicating) I woudn't fixate on this, it only applies if you had wanted a holographic tux that was transparent over the players body. From what you typed, you are looking for the holo effect over all of your character.
marioperson
I don't want a gray dean tux, I want a tux that's holographic and YOU'RE normal. And I want another version that makes you holographic and is holographic.
devinpatterson
I don't want a gray dean tux, I want a tux that's holographic and YOU'RE normal. And I want another version that makes you holographic and is holographic. I understand you don't want a gray tux. If you want a holographic tux and your normal then what I explained above becomes relevant. That was the point of the "object effect" vs "actor effect". And I'll look into that, but it is a far more complicated project so I can't give you an estimate on when it will be done. Here are your honest hearts items (plus walking clouds throwing spear). They should be automatically added to your inventory, you don't have to do anything. Let me know what needs fixing. I need to finish an elite gear riot retexture for Rookthebunwolf who has been waiting patiently for quite a while, not to mention the bottles as weapons, as well as several larger projects. But I'll work on the rest as time allows. Here is the link for the mod. It's OK to install it now, updating it with other items will be painless. devinpatterson
Alright, sweet that's exactly what I want, however these three words of you'res I don't understand ''Fixate'' ''Object Effect'' and ''actor'' when I say don't fixate on the technical details, I mean don't get hung up on them, I'll handle the technical stuff. Object effect is a wide category, but in this instance it refers to the holo effect on a piece of armor/clothes(which are classified as armor). Actor encompasses everything under that category in teh geck, from robots, to mutants to NPC's. If the mojave is the stage, these are your actors.
