David Brasher
Try disabling all your mods and then entering Breezehome. If that works then try only disabling some of your mods and keep on testing and adding mods until you find the bad mod. You mention a library (added to Breezehome?) Try disabling that mod and then entering Breezehome. Try shutting down all background processes and disconnecting from the Internet while playing. That will give the computer more power to push through the tough spot.
CasperTheLich
don't do that. unless you only have a few mods installed. skyrim is rather temperamental about adding or removing large amounts of content at the same time. try removing one thing at a time first. with skyrim never purge a save file if it can be helped. David Brasher
I am not advising saving on top of the corrupt savegame while performing a test unless it is a preplanned move, and exactly the thing you decide you want to do. You will want to be sure that your savegame is backed up before you start tinkering. I must state that I disagree with the advice of my esteemed colleague Invisible Man. The savegame is unusable. There is nothing to lose. There is no downside to performing a quick test by deactivating all your mods at once. The only bad thing the test can do is fail, and lead you on to ideas about the next test that should be performed. That test is much faster to perform than removing the mods one by one and then performing a play-test between each removal. I propose one quick test. If you have 100 mods, then Invisible Man proposes 100 tests, and I think that would take a long time. David Brasher
I got curious about the situation and downloaded your savegame. It did indeed freeze up when trying to go into Breezehome, even though I have different mods than you do. So I fixed it. (After a fashion.) You can now go in and out of Breezehome just fine. It is fully furnished, and Lydia is in there, but none of the things you stored inside will be there. Here is the file if it is something of use to you: Save 69 - darius Whiterun 90.38.59.ess. CasperTheLich
i was just saying that just removing all your mods at the same time might cause more issues that had not been there before that point, making bug detection more troublesome. if it didn't kill your savegame right then & there. and if you had 100 mods and skyrim was working fine until recently, the likelihood is it was a mod that was added recently, if that fails mods that logically effect Breezehome and few if any other locations would be next. then if that failed then the full list of mods. but this is all moot (and more a matter of personal preference then who is right or wrong) as our esteemed & learned colleague David Brasher seems to have fixed your savefile. However, i do enjoy a good discussion with those who know a thing or two, or even have a differing viewpoint… sometimes we just need a change of scenery. Let’s just try to avoid killing each other with kindness, or pronouns. Pronouns can be sticky. (you did get the pronoun thing was a joke right? just because i've been sick for the last week doesn't mean i've had a lobotomy that zapped my IQ to that of a carrot ;) ) Edited September 22, 2012 by Invisible Man
David Brasher
There is no requirement to save during a diagnostic play-test. In fact. It is inadvisable. You only do that it you have a carefully thought-out plan and want to permanently lock in the changes to a particular copy of your savegame. So when you deactivate all of your mods at once and then play-test, you generally do NOT save. You look at the results of the play-test, exit the game, make some more changes to the load order, and play-test again. So if I deactivate 100 mods and run a diagnostic play-test, and then leave without saving, there is absolutely no damage to my savegame.
