I converted one of the loading screen meshes (the male High Elf) to a statue. Everything went smoothly except for one thing - the face. When I apply my texture to the face, it looks... off. Unlike the other nodes (his robe, boots, weapon, etc.), the face looks almost flat. On top of that, when you turn the statue the face goes dark. From the front it's lighter than the rest.

 

Is this a known FaceGen issue or did I do something wrong?

The mesh is using the following textures:

 

textures\clutter\MyMod\statue01.dds (changed from 'actors\character\male\malehead.dds')

textures\clutter\MyMod\statue01.dds (changed from 'actors\character\highelfmale\malehead_msn.dds')

textures\actors\character\male\malehead_msn.dds (no change)

 

textures\actors\character\male\malehead_s.dds (no change)

 

I've tried playing around with the various default textures, removing them altogether, etc. but no luck.

 

 

EDIT: Also, is there a way to remove face data altogether? All I need is a static face, anyway...
