Mod manager problem

i downloaded a few mods on mod manager and have activated them. they also appear in plugins. how ever when i click "launch skyrim" they dont appear in game under data files.when i went back to mod manager they got automatically unselected from plugins. i assumed then i had to press "launch custom skyrim" instead. when i clicked on that it said "no custom launch command has been set"

yes "data files" is greyed out.
