Need HELP not a mod made for me.

I'm making a mod to make clutter equippable. (I know, it has been done, but I am addressing the items that are not done), and i have been trying to make silver bowls equippable as a helmet. I have all the scripting and the likes done, but it looks like this

even though I used Nifskope to line it up, as demonstrated in this picture, where the elven helmet model is used as a reference.

(sorry for lack of textures).

AKA :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

So please help, it would be greatly appreciated.

I will attach the files that i have edited already with nifskope, and if you do fix them, please tell me exactly what you did, so I won't have to do this again.

Thank you in advance,

Wheybags.

I had similar problems the first time I tried to make a hat. The game doesn't determine how/where an item is equipped by its position in the editor, but by the bones it's weighted to and the item's position in relation to them. For example, I imagine that when opening the Elven helmet's .nif file, you'd see a few NiNodes in and/or around the helmet with names like Bip01 Head. Those would be the bones in NifSkope, and the problem would be that you never weighted the bowl model to any part of the NPC skeleton.

I don't think you can weight a model to a skeleton in NifSkope. I don't know of any tutorials specifically for weight-painting imported Oblivion skeletons, but there's a bit on it in Creature Meshes 101 for Blender.

the easiest way i could think of would be to just replace the elven helmet nitristrip with that of the bowel, but im unsure if the rigging/weightpainting will be transfered aswell... if not theres a tut on the cswiki on how to easily copy and paste whole rigs from one mesh to another

Naw, I checked cs wiki.

EDIT: And the helmet is one nitristrip, whereas the bowl is several.

You need to make the bowl all one piece for it to work right. This also means that it can only have 1 texture. Helmets need to be 1 piece to work with the head deforms. If you don't want to use any deforms, you can just weight it to head bones just like any other piece of armor, but there will be some clipping with oddly shaped heads.

How do I do that? :thanks:

I mean, like what program could do that (blender?), and do you know any good links to tuts?
