UDK450
I am not entirely sure if this is possible, but I think it would make things pretty nice and easy for some people. If anyone has ever played Dragon Age, you will most likely know what I am talking about. But if you don't, I shall explain it now. In Dragon Age, there is a system where you have a primary character, but can eventually recruit several secondary characters. The neat thing about this is for most of the game, you can switch between playing as each character, and are allowed to customize each character's loadout, skills, abilities, armor, etc. So, in Skyrim translation, there are two possible options I would like this to follow, if at all possible. The 1st option would be to create multiple characters, and have each one in your party, allowing you to switch between each character whenever you wish. This would require each character to have a customized AI such as what is included in the Amazing Follower Tweaks so that your followers can fall on when you are not controlling it. To switch between characters, you would either need to enter a console command, or include a dialog option with each follower. The 2nd option (the preferable one, but tougher), would be able to have multiple character saves, where each character is on their own until you change a setting that allows you to choose which of your other characters may join you as a follower. This would allow each character to live their own life, with their own quests and etc, but also allow you to bring in your other characters to continue to level them up. If anyone is interested in this, and would consider creating it, but feels like more information needs to be clarified, please tell me.
David Brasher
People request this over and over. The reason nobody makes this mod is that Skyrim is not built to do this. The reason Dragon Age does multiple party members you can control that is because it was built to do it.
UDK450
I was just wondering if it was possible through mods and/or hacks, Thanks though.

Because I fully support this idea.

It may be that you are not familiar with the concept of hardcoding. The CK is a tool that is designed to deliver more of the same as what you already have. It adds things into the game that are like the things that are already there. So you can build more houses, more dungeons, more NPCs, more quests, etc. In other words, the CK is quite limited on what it can do and cannot do. It adds content. It does not change the most basic of game mechanics. It is sort of like a mechanical typewriter with English characters. This device is great at making letters and numbers in English on paper. You can make as many letters and numbers as you want in any order you like. But then what if you want to type with Chinese characters? How are you going to get this machine to type Chinese? You are sunk. This machine will not type Chinese. The CK is like this. Bethesda has only given modders the ability to change certain things. The source code is not available to build a new version of Skyrim, and it would violate copyright laws. Bethesda has not authorized modders to do this. To have a game that is like Dragon Age and Skyrim, you would basically need to program your own video game. I am quite skeptical that you would be able to bend Skyrim to your will in this instance. There was no need for the sarcasm. And that does suck. However I will admit what you can do with it is quite amazing regardless with all that I've seen. I just wish they would allow us to do more and weren't such butt-holes about their content. Yes that's right BETHESDA, I'm talking to you. I'm really not believing this. First its Blizzard and now this. Oh well I've thrown my 100 cents in, now I'm out of here. Edited September 25, 2012 by rapcoa
DanteWrath
You say its impossible, but they said that about oblivion but towards the end this exact mod was made.
UDK450
While I do understand that perhaps being able to switch between characters, and level them, freely may be impossible, I do think it is possible to have a mod that allows you to switch between various NPC's and control them. In a way, a follower mod could be tweaked to include a feature such as this. The problem is giving your main character the AI while you are controlling one of your followers. userrnam
If skyrim is not built to do such a thing than that is what the mod would be for. So I say make it happen! Because I fully support this idea. Mods for any game are limited to what engines the game uses to run. Engines which run games have limitations. Those limitations apply to mod developers and the mods they create.
Morgwynn
Download the Alternate Actors mod that lets you switch bodies with any Npc, Follower or Monster in the game and then have a mod that lets you have multiple followers and then you can switch between them at will and then your original body will become your follower. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36047/?
