How to enjoy Morrowind

Another tip is don't restart if you find somthing you missed. that ruins the atmosphere of the huge world. The first time I played I got lost in Balmora not havinga clue where I was going. That disappeared the mere second time I played.

Nice tips though.

If you are looking for something new, try this. Make a character named after a character in the game, and take over his life. Kill the NPC, take his house, and then just act like a normal person im Morrowind. Go shopping at the local shopkeeper for bread, glasses, and other basic stuff. You can make money by some non violent way, like collecting flowers, or fishing (killing fish, selling hides) or pearl hunting, etc. It is really an interesting way to play......

An interesting approach to the game - but not really much fun considering

the way Morrowind is, I suspect. Morrowind expects you to go adventuring,

either as a fighter, a mage or a thief... it doesn't expect you to settle down

and lead an ordinary life...

You'd pretend to be this character for one or two days, do the same

things and get bored easily... you can't really buy furniture, for instance, nor

can you cook, go to the pub with your friends, invite people over for dinner,

have dates and so on, unless you make or download mods to that purpose...

that is, in my opinion you can't use Morrowind as a fantasy version of The Sims :)

I like realism, but I suspect that playing Morrowind that way for more than a day

would be rather boring... of course, playing an ordinary life without questing

would, I believe, be rather more interesting in the Me-Mod than in Morrowind...

but this is not a Me-Mod forum so I'll say nothing of that :P

Well, even though I'm extremly new on these boards I do have to agree with the roleplaying guideline. My first time through I had my character join every guild he came across and do as many quests as he could. Since then, I've made characters for specific roles. I have a Mage who's the leader of both the Mage's Guild and House Telvanni. I have a "saintly" character who works for the Imperial Cult and runs about healing everyone she can.(She also has NO offensive spells. Yay!). I've made a Warrior chick who's taken over the Fighters Guild, and become the ranking officer of the Imperial Legion on Vvardenfell, and am currently considering making a Necromancer of some sort. Possibly a Vampire character since I've been playing this game a year and have yet to ever become one.

Of course...I'm doing all this on the XBox...but it's still how I keep the game interesting.

(Current Character: An former Imperial soldier who's currently employed at the East Empire Company's Raven Rock site as Factor.)

I never actually play an evil character... I always end up playing righteous

paladins or petty thieves who are actually good. I guess I am missing on a huge

part of the game... I usually join Redoran House, the Imperial Cult, the Imperial

Legion and so on, and I free slaves. I never played as an assassin or as an

altogether evil character. I guess I have big problems, if I can't even fake

to be evil... the next time I play, I'll play as an evil character.

But I don't think I'll just go around killing anyone... I'll play an evil

character, not a butcher... maybe I'll pretend to be a good guy but commit

unspeakable evil deeds! Maybe I'll even download the mod that lets you join the

Sixth House. It's not in my character, but who knows... I might actually begin to enjoy it... :shifty: *chuckle*...*evil laughter*... BWAH-HAH-HAH!
