popvirus2
I use Lakeview Extended by in all of my playthroughs...I especially like the extended basement portion of that mod..I wrote the mod author (see below - copy and paste of my conversation)....I haven't a clue as to how much work it would be... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 15 August 2019, 7:32AMWould it be possible to adapt the basement mod (Lakeview_Extended_Basement -- an extra bedroom in the basement with beds for 8 people) to Windstad and Heljarchen? It would be great to have eight (16 if using My Home Is Your Home) beds for followers at each hearthfire home.pops Ac3s member 3,649 posts 164 kudos Report Reply 16 August 2019, 4:20AM it would be possible, but I won't do that since I never had any interest in the other manors and I don't even play skyrim or mod anymore, but if someone else wants to do that then by all means he/she can go for it, provided they get my permission of course. popvirus2 premium 280 posts 3 kudos Report Reply Edit post 16 August 2019, 6:15AM Excellent and thank you for your response...maybe I can come up with something... po ------------------------------------ would anyone be willing to attempt this adaptation? I really think I would not be the only one to use this.... link - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6363?tab=posts pops
Omegacron
It's a nice idea, but if I did something like that it would be mostly display/armory space. I never have more than a couple of followers generally, but man I sure love showing off all my weapons & armor.
popvirus2
@ Ac3s.. sorry for the long lag time in this response... I truly appreciate it...and all basements work beautifully with a lot of other house mods too...you just have to be careful when building the basements to not block the doorway... Thank you for your work, pops
thumbincubation
I try very hard to avoid modding Hearthfire homes, even though the basements are considerably cleaner than the rest of the house, which is an absolute CF. In my last 2 plays through, I used AFT and MHIYH2+ to assign multiple followers/guards around the home, and a few laborers. The best bet I found, for my basement, was to construct the empty basement and nothing else. Then I used Jaxonz to copy and paste what I wanted down there. I ended up with 4 bunks along the walls, a wardrobe with a mead cask near the door, and a small table with 4 chairs near where the shrine would be. Basically, lining the walls and/or wherever there would normally be other items, so that I don't block the navmesh. Then the inner basement I set up as a forge, similar to the vanilla, but by doing it this way I was able to control my own lighting and keep a lot of the trash out of the way. I know this isn't the same as a mod, but I figured it might help someone in the mean time.
SJCicero
I am curious about what happened to earlier Skyrim House mods, like the basement extensions, the Secret Halls of Hjerim, and the greatly improved Lakeview Manor, etc. Didn't they get reworked for SE?
