My save game causes CTD

I posted this in General as im not really having problems with the game, but rather solved my problem through observations which turned out to be even more annoying then the initial problem! :wallbash:

 

 

My 'main' character save seems to crash to desktop in certain areas of the world including the waterfall area near Whiterun, Riften and the volcanic tundra area, i also remember instances of more 'unexplained' crashes when using hotkeys used by SKSE mods etc. I also noticed that some tweaks i made to a aesthetic mod are buggy while playing the game too, namely the fire of a brazier i placed being in the original vanilla position even though the brazier itself had moved to the modded position.

 

After falling out with the game and coming back to play a few days ago, i installed the unofficial Skyrim patch and version 1.7 of the game including Dawnguard. The crashes still occurred prompting me to make a new character and the crashes, buggy mod appearances disappeared and performance in general all seemed a lot smoother.

 

I have come to the conclusion that my save was 'corrupted/buggy' properly due to the amount of mods i pumped into the game (which is still a modest number,) or possibly not doing a clean save when updating mods etc.

 

Has anyone experienced such problems before? I don't really want to continue using my new character and progressing if its going to happen again and face problems. My rig is seriously outdated and doesn't meet the minimal requirements at all, however in the past i have been able to play the game to a standard which pleased me and i wouldn't see how this would cause crashes all of a sudden?
