WoogieMonster
I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but your rig is at the bare minimum to even run Vista, much less Oblivion on Vista. Vista and Oblivion are both memory hogs and your low-end video card is probably sweating bullets every time you boot up the game. Medium settings may be as good as you're going to get. A few people here have Vista, hopefully someone will know some tricks to help you out.
catmagnet
I doubt there'll be much of a remedy. Iirc 7000m is chipset gfx, so that's zero true video memory. Maybe increasing its share of RAM in BIOS will help, but I see little hope in conjunction with Vista. Getting a stripped down XP to set up a dual-boot could be worth a try, there's stuff going around in shady corners of the net with a footprint as low as >90MB. Your responsibility to check if that's legal where you are, supposing you own a copy of xp. But even then we're still facing a slow hd. Anyway, you'll need some computer skills and dedication to try that. Sorry, but that's the only way I see and I wouldn't even bet on any results. buddah
Your video card, find it in this list: Oblivion Ranking Listhttp://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.ph...st=0&start= CPU Ranking listhttp://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=507557 That particular chipset/video card is the subject of much discussion in these threads: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.ph...54&hl=7000Mhttp://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.ph...70&hl=7000Mhttp://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.ph...26&hl=7000Mhttp://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.ph...90&hl=7000Mhttp://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.ph...55&hl=7000Mhttp://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.ph...78&hl=7000Mhttp://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.ph...62&hl=7000Mhttp://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.ph...81&hl=7000M There is a clear pattern to the problem, and the likely cause.
