Woodpeckersam
Hello there peeps =) I was running up to Bleak Falls Barrow when a sudden snow storm hit. Knowing that there were NPC's at the tower, I sneaked and walked forwards slowly. Noticing that I could only see a few feet in front of me, i watched my step and headed towards that tower. Next thing I know I got shot by an arrow. Then again and again and all of a sudden a dude charged at me with his sword. Something is very wrong with the NPC's View (or Sound) Distance in Snowstorms. I was wondering if anyone can fix this issue? It would be good for other effects. Snow StormsVisibility : 10 MetersSound Distance: 10 Meters RainVisibility: 50 MetersSound Distance : 20 Meters FogVisibility : 15 MetersSound Distance: 80 Meters (As fog (Apparently) can make sounds louder) This is just an idea, i know that there are maths involved to determine all these in relation to how loud the Snow Storm is and how dense the fog is for example. Many thanks :D I dont like immersion breaking issues like this :P
Woodpeckersam
Does anyone think this is possible to change?
JanusForbeare
Muffling, echoes, and fade-out distance are set for each soundfx baseobject individually. Using sound scripts, it's probably possible to manipulate them to some degree under certain weather conditions, but I can't think of a way to create a "blanket" script that would affect all sounds. That said, my experience with soundfx is limited. There may be modders about who could shed more light on the subject.
