GreelS
Hi everyone :) So I finally purchased a premium Nexus subscription. After over a thousand hours using Vortex and NMM, and accessing hundreds of mods across Fallouts 3, New Vegas, 76 and 4 (for which I have over 850 hours logged alone!); Skyrim; Mass Effects 1, 2, 3 and Andromeda.... I thought it's time to give my support to the Nexus infrastructure. That's not to mention the even greater hours and effort put in by mod creators and staff to keep the modding scene going--and accessible for free! It means a lot to me personally. For the last few years in particular, gaming has become a way for me to cope with depression, anxiety, stress and a job that exposes me to the worst and darkest aspects of humanity (though it's a job I love). Playing games like the ones above has actually been very beneficial to my mental state, and modding them has greatly enhanced that because it makes gaming into a even more involved and fun experience. I love figuring out technical things and following modding guides, making mods work together and seeing the results are half of the experience for me! More importantly, it takes my mind off the things I see at work, and helps me deal with my up and down mental state (note: yes I am getting professional help and hobbies are not a replacement for such help). I don't have the words to express how grateful I am to everyone who staffs Nexus, creates the mods and forms the community behind it all. I'm not really all that expressive about this stuff online--this may end up being one of my few posts here lol. But I know I'm not the only one who benefits from gaming and the modding scene in the same way, and I dare say a lot of us are quiet about it. And I know that getting premium membership or donating to mod authors are not options available to everyone out there who uses Nexus. It's just my way of showing everyone that even though we may be mostly silent, your creations, efforts and services have not gone unnoticed or unappreciated. *Manly cough* as you were.
