Fallout Character Overhaul - Crashing and Missing Textures

I have been getting back into New Vegas, and have been attempting to install the Fallout Character Overhaul but it always leads to one of two issues; After installing version 3.0 and the updated 3.01 and attempting to start a new game, it always, without fail crashes to the desktop. This is with using the NMM.

The second problem occurs after I attempt a manual install or only install version 3.0 with NMM, which is missing textures on all player and npc models.

I don't seem to have the missing .esm file problem, but tried downloading the patch anyway to no avail. The game continues to crash.

I have run across the issue of it downloading the Russel edits file without having the master (I don't use that mod) but have gone into the data files and deleted it.

I have not gone into the .ini files and changed anything.

I have tried to uninstall/reinstall the game and re-download everything fresh.

I would very much like to play the game with this mod installed, but I can't seem to find a guide on how to properly install and get it working. Any suggestions on what I could try to get it working would be appreciated.

Edit: I have NVSE and UIO installed, and have followed all the instructions on the mod page. I am not a modder personally, I just play the game with them.

Edit Edit: I am an idiot. I will try to change the specified number in the .ini files and see if that fixes it.

Please see the 'Vanilla Load Order' entry in the 'First Timer Advice' section; and the 'Common Game Problems' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.

If the problem persists, then see either the 'Solutions to Starting the game problems' or the 'Solutions to "Crash To Desktop" (CTD) problems' sections in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide.

FCO is what I call a "beautification" mod to make things look "pretty". Try to get a stable setup before you pursue adding such mods . "Pretty doesn't beat out playable." And when you specific a mod you are having problems with (such as "FCO"), please provide the link to the version you are using and any patches for it you are installing so we are sure we are all on the same page. Installing FCO is straightforward. It's getting it to work with other mods that have the problem. That usually means you need "compatibility patches" to make them work together. Read the Comments page for FCO. (it's usually easier to use for "Search" feature on the "Forum Thread" linked at the top of the Comments page.) Without your "load order" we can't really help you with specifics.

I recommend anyone read the entire "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article to understand the differences between this game and others you may have experience with; especially if this is your first attempt to play a modded FNV or it's been more than a year since you last did so.
