Skyrim Melee Combat/Brawling

Do I need some super secret technique to be able to fluently smashing my buttons for melee combat?

 

Wanted to try out how a Werewolf plays but the combat is extremly clunky, at times I just stare at an enemy in front of me for 3.. 4.. 5 seconds

Im not lagging, the game just doesnt recognize my inputs

Realized that by brawling too but since I usually just godmode myself through forced brawlings and they dont happen that often its kind fo w/e

 

Usually playing Assassins, Mages or Archers, so this is the first time where Im playing an actual melee combat "class"

Nope, just hit the left mouse button.

 

And preferrably play a kitty with the gloves of the pugilist, if you're serious about playing an unarmed character.
