devinpatterson
Ranger Veterns have a perk called "Ranger Toughness) that adds a whopping 30% DR (not DT). I have two mods that have potential quest rewards of a Ranger Toughness perk (multiple ranks). While I want to make these attractive rewards I need to consider game balance. I was hoping players could give me feedback on what level of DR they would consider worthy of spending their perk on, without being overly powerful. I figure that a lifetime of training granted these Rangers their 30%, so the player would probably be limited to half that (15%). Maybe 3 ranks of 5%. Or if that is too little two ranks of 7.5%. Maybe have different names for the perks (Ranger toughness, Ranger Veteran toughness and Nevada Ranger toughness). I don't know if they have you eat glass, sleep on a bed of nails, staple your scrotum to your thigh etc, but it's apparently some harsh training. Any thoughs on what would be a balanced but worthy reward?
Thecammandor
I think it would be a welcome addition, if you make it a cool questline with custom things or something in it.

Oh yeah it's part of a quest I'v been story-boarding for a while now. I mean from a players point of view, would you use a perk on 5% damage resistance? Or would that be just weak. What about 7.5% or 15%. At what point does it (in your opinion) become worthwhile. I don't want to give out a potential reward if no player would spend their perk on it. And I don't want to just give the player the perk, due to the story.
flamenx01
I think 15% sounds a good amount. 5% would be barely noticeable.

Would you spend one perk for 7.5% and two perks for a maximum of 15%? (ie two ranks) or would that be, in your opinion too expensive?
