rakansc
I've been trying to think of a way to make it so that, when a certain NPC dies, an exact copy of them is formed to take their place, but the corpse remains. I got this idea when I was running through the first Burma Gate mission in the main quest. One of the normal Burma Guards died as we were assaulting the tower (as they tend to do). It seemed silly to me that there were only 2 (3 counting Burd) guards escorting me in the Tower; a city garrison should be much larger. At the same time, excessive numbers of NPCs can lead to slowdowns in the game in addition to making the game too easy (a problem seen when the player recruit too many CM Partners and the game becomes too easy). A solution to this, I figured, would be that whenever a guard dies a new one spawns to take his place (simulating reinforcements). But I didn't want this to apply to every NPC in the game (just things like guards and soldiers), and wanted to ensure that corpses stayed behind for sake of realism. The problem is that I am relatively inexperienced in modding Oblivion; the most I have done is create some custom NPCs and Items. Could someone tell me how I could go about creating a NPC spell or ability that would do this? My thanks. (I theorize this must be possible because of the "createfullactorcopy" command in the Oblivion console)
LoginToDownload
It probably wouldn't be too hard. How much do you know about using the CS?
ihateregisteringeverywhere
I actualy got some imperial soldiers as reinforcements every time I was doing that mission... Didn't you?
myrmaad
I was forever trying to ditch those clowns. I work alone.
ihateregisteringeverywhere
I just left them in charge of the charge. Chaaron charged one gold coin each. After that I slew the rest of the daedra with my sword of electric charge. Had to recharge it afterwards.
rakansc
It probably wouldn't be too hard. How much do you know about using the CS? I have used the CS pretty much only to make custom NPCs, Factions, Spells, Items, and Vendors. I have not created any custom spell effects (though I have created custom spells) or scripts before. I am a fast learner, though, and am trying to learn how to make my own scripts. Edit: Also, no, I don't think I ever saw the soldiers respawn by themselves... Edit2: And thank you all for the replies. :)
ihateregisteringeverywhere
I didn't say respawn, I've said "got reinforcements"
LoginToDownload
Actually, the method I had planned requires OBSE... Do you still want to know it?
rakansc
Actually, the method I had planned requires OBSE... Do you still want to know it? Sure, I'd love to hear it. I have OBSE, though I haven't fooled around with it.
mageesty
I have a kinda similar idea.Instead of respawning the NPC you would §pawn them.I think it would be really cool if the people that play oblivion could create a NPC in the same way we create spells and enchant items. For example we type press(~/`) then type in showNPCmaking and the screen pops up. It would allow us to chose the stats, spells, attributes but the maximum would be that of our character's and we can only give them the spells that we have and we can only give them armor that we have or had.--------My e-mail is [email protected] if you need further info about my idea for this mod. I have the idea but I don't know how to make the mod itself/mods period.
