anjenthedog Posted September 5, 2019 Share Posted September 5, 2019 So... this past Labor Day weekend, I did the quest where you go to the mine and help the old guy save face for years of believing his grandfather didn't just die in a rock fall. while I was talking to him (just before going down into the mine), I tried completing the pickaxe quest, which I'd snagged a while back and forgotten to complete. I eventually made my way to the 'objective' (trying not to add too many spoilers for anyone who hasn't done it, although I suppose at this late date there aren't many who haven't...) Anyway. Got there and no body, no device... Had to TCL to get out. gave up on the quest, went back to the mainland and did a few other quests and shut down for the evening. The next day, I decided to play for a couple hours in the morning. Shortly after lladiing the game, I got a message from the courier telling me to go back to solstheim for another quest (the one with the dig), and upon arriving in Solstheim, I noticed the pickaxe quest was active. So I went back to the mine and sure enough, there's the old man and his wife arguing again. I go to ask him for the pickaxe and he starts in with the mine quest again. This time, I didn't ask for the pickaxe, did the mine quest (successfully this time) then completed the pickaxe quest after it was all done. Strange days... Anyway, thought I'd note it just in case some newb like me happens across this, so they are sure to complete the one before starting the other, and just in case the weirdness is repeatable based on the conditions I noted above.
