After a few mishaps in trying to cobble together mods for a more interesting FO4 replay, I found this guide/package and am attempting to install it.

I'm now at this segment, in the texture optimiziation segment:

To compare the Graphic Card Recommendations with yours just use UserBenchmark site comparison.

- Performance Overhaul - Download and install this Repack to have the best Performance overhaul available on Nexus site, including 30+ thousands textures compressed in BC7 format to enhance more fps and stability.
- Use with the Main Repack if you intend to greatly optimize the textures not covered by it and select 1k or 2k options on the main repack to ensure the most important textures of the game are well retextured in quality. Perfect mix of quality textures and performance boost.
- Recommended on Low-End PC Systems (Same or less powerful than a GTX 1060).

- Main Repack - Download and install the three parts from my Main Files section. This repack is really a must for everyone, with 15k textures of 1k, 2k and a bunch of 4k sizes that are of the most optimized and performance friendly, granting both better quality than vanilla and more performance.

- Quality Addon - Requires the Main Repack. Download and install both parts from my optional files to get the best quality overhaul available on nexus site, including 6k textures to expand and improve what the Main Repack has. If you are looking for the max possible textures quality and amount, this combo is all you need.
- Recommended on High-End Pc systems only (Same or more powerful than a GTX 1660ti)

- Restyle Pack - Compatible with all packs or combos you used before. Download it from my optional files and install it. During Installer pick what you want. This pack includes those big restyles mods so that they don't bother those looking for vanilla enhanced textures but which many like me still prefer to use.

Where it goes awry for me is this sentence: "- Use with the Main Repack if you intend to greatly optimize the textures not covered by it and select 1k or 2k options on the main repack to ensure the most important textures of the game are well retextured in quality"

I have no idea what "use with the main repack" entails, nor where and how I am supposed to select these 1k or 2k options. I have downloaded the Performance Overhaul and Main Repack, with and into the Nexus Mod Manager, and tried to install the Performance Overhaul and then the first part of the Main Repack. Nothing really happened after installing the first. No additions to the list in the Plugins panel and no feature selection dialogue. It might have been stupid of me, but I went ahead and installed the first part of the Main Repack. I did get a lot of question prompts to choose whether to keep the old Performance Overhaul files or the newer Main Repack files. At first, I tried selecting manually, in case the aforementioned "1k or 2k options" would reveal themselves, but I figure I'd be still clicking through it next week if I were to do it manually, so I finally pressed one of the "Yes to all" options, can't recall which.

After this piece of blind blundering, I figured maybe I had installed them wrongly, as I used the green check icon on the left hand menu that only said "Install", not "Install and activate", which is what the menu option reads when I right click any of the downloaded mod files.

The next step might have been when the real stupidity began. I tried uninstalling the Performance Overhaul and Main Repack part i, in order to attempt the "Install and activate" option afterwards. I couldn't find an option that said just "Activate", and I thought the lack of confirmation of a successful installation was because I had somehow installed the files without activating them.

When I tried reinstalling, now by the "Install and activate" menu option, again nothing happened. Except now the Performance Overhaul didn't really install at all. There's no green check mark next to it, it's not counted in the "installed mods" count on the lowbar and nothing happens when I (re)select the "Install and activate" option again and anew and again.

As Frasier would have said it, about that bit about tossed salads, what is a boy to do?
