CTD entering Hidden Valley

I'm trying to enter Hidden Valley for the first time in this playthrough, with Veronica. I always CTD right when entering L1 (the door after Veronica talks with Ramos on the intercom)

It's definitely something happening specifically in L1, I'm able to leave the bunker, and I used movetoqt to skip ahead to L2 and had no problems there, but crashed again when trying to exit back to L1.

NVAC always prints the following two errors at the time of the crash, I'm not sure how to interpret the data though:

09200051 ; script 'Expression Error: SYNTAX' (000E2F78).
09200051 ; script 'Expression Error: SYNTAX' (000E2F77)

You appear to be having a problem passing through the "door" between interior cells of those levels. That indicates a mod conflict, as the vanilla game doesn't have that problem.

Other than noting you have both "Cage" and "FPGE" installed (which is not recommended; see the "sticky" first post in the FPGE comments), I don't see anything directly appearing to modify the BoS bunker. Please see the 'Mod Conflict Isolation' section of the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" article.

The NVAC error is telling you there is a script "syntax error" (badly formed statement), which normally causes that script line to be ignored with erratic consequences. You can look at the log lines immediately before those errors to see if you can get some idea as to where that script of coming from, but most likely it is not the cause of your CTD. If so, it is something for the mod author to correct.

So, a strange solution that I'm not sure makes logical sense, but it seems to be working for now.

I disabled CAGE, though that did not solve the error. I went through the troubleshooting process and still couldn't source the problem. So I thought maybe my save was corrupted. I started a new game, and after leaving Doc Mitchell's teleported myself into Hidden Valley L1 with no crash, though of course the Brotherhood was hostile.

So, I loaded up my old save and tried the same thing, and it loaded successfully. Then I tried entering from L1 to L2, then back to L1 and through the main exit. No problems. Both times I teleported myself to Ramos, and with the original playthrough when I was trying to enter with Veronica, he started his usual conversation immediately upon loading. Maybe something strange was happening with the script that commands him to walk towards you to initiate conversation upon entering the bunker, though not sure what that could be.

Apparently you teleported past whatever activator at that portal was having problems. As long as the necessary "quest stages" get set, that shouldn't cause any problems. If there are no problems advancing further through that quest, I'd say you have a valid solution to you particular problem.
