EmhyrTyl
I'm looking to start a new game as a merchant character and try to avoid combat entirely. I'm compiling a mod list that will try to enhance this style of play. I'm still looking for ideas and feedback before I start my game, so I've not tested most of these mods yet so it's entirely possible some of them are pants. Here's what I have so far:Early game jobsImmersive Woodcutting - earn money by being a lumberjackGoranga restaurant job - work at a restaurantCLS-Craftybits V08 BETA - Oblivion crafting systemRandom Tasks - randomly generated collection questsGold Horse Courier - get a job as a courierPlayer Fishing Mod - fish!Complete Gardening - allows the player to cultivate a gardenGraverobber BETA1 - rob graves for a livingAshs Odd Jobs II - available jobs in the Imperial City Later game investmentsBank of Cyrodiil - bank your gold to earn interestSoTs The Order Of Nibenay] - run a guild, purchase upgrades, earn incomeBrew House - buy a farm and farm plants and animalsMining Company - purchase mines, hire minersTamriel Resource Exchange - buy and sell shares on the stock marketLs Rentable Player Homes - buy vanilla oblivion houses and rent them out for a steady profitGoranga traveling merchant - buy stock and sell to npcs at higher pricesBig Business - acquire an estate, purchase upgrades and hire workersPats Business Mod Shopkeeper - own a store in Chorrol, purchase new stock and hire staffImperial Bank of Cyrodiil - own several homes, businesses, take out loans, and earn interest Player HomesValley View Estate - manor with vineyard that can produce wine and brandiesShadowcrest Vineyard and Shadowcrest Vineyard COBL - estate that can produce wineAleswell Cottage ver 4 - cottage with crafting facilitiesMillstone Farm And Millstone Farm COBL - farm with crafting facilitiesRed Rose Manor ver 2_2 - Manor with crafting facilities CompanionsCompanion Vilja - has avoid combat modeMercenary Svenja - fighter which costs a set wage every 5 daysCompanions for Hire 02 - Athgar - companion that costs 200 gold every 4 daysPackdonkeys ver 2 1 - donkeys to move inventory between locations GameplayOblivion -Elys- NoFastTravel - disables fast travelPersuasion Overhaul OBSE - more immersive persuasion system I'm looking for any feedback on the mentioned mods or this style of gameplay, as well as other suggestions for mods which may compliment this style. I like to see some more hire-able guards/mercenaries in order for the PC to avoid combat while traveling, but free companions seem too easy. As always, more things to spend money on is always a good thing, and any additional non-combat quests would be welcome too.
