WINDWAIK3R
Sooo I've seen a few theories on reddit but would like to hear the whats-what on the forums. What the heck happened to Luxor's Skyrim SE mods?
anjenthedog
I was bored and curious so I did a quick google search., There is a claim of asset piracy herehttps://www.reddit.com/r/modpiracy/comments/ctzjtf/skyrim_seluxor8071s_mods_google_drive/ I have no idea if it's true or not. I suspect he/she was either irritated by ungrateful folks posting complaints in his/her mod "posts" sections, he/she wasn't getting the "returns" he/she expected (whatever that means) or he she got tired of maintaining said mods with shifting requirements from skyrim and SKSE updates. Or indeed, as a couple of the people in that linked thread suggests, he/she was caught with some sort of "asset piracy" thing and was effectively forced to remove them... or did so in retaliation for the allegation. I hain't any true idea. Total speculation on my part. It *is a lesson in why if you like a mod you should literally download it for a local archived copy. These are effectively free even though they cost the developers quite a bit of time to produce. And they may simply get up and walk away, taking their proverbial ball with them. I don't blame anyone for doing so, I've done the same in my own former areas of expertise many many many moons ago (for reasons I shall not go into but let's just say I was miffed) ... Their products are gifts, although they do have expiration dates one way or another, be it from the author, or from a site that goes offline., or if they just become "obsolete" (in the eyes of the consensus at the time)
Handy6373
I thought I saw somewhere where Luxor said there were too many single mods and they were going to put them into either all in ones or packs.
WINDWAIK3R
Interesting, there are some odd similarities brought up in the Reddit thread but I don't like guilty until proven innocent verdict usually reached by the internet. Hopefully its the packaged mods and there's also credence to this considering that's what Luxor did with Fallout
