Isbelle had offered to do the voice work for Marilyn the securitron in the new vegas mod talk forum, and I hope to work with her to make a very cool companion. I just got the sound files from her and she nailed it, I'm really impressed. Listen to this. The rest of her samples are just as solid. So we need some brainstorming. I'm going to throw up the standard companion wheel dialogs and I'll do a short recap of ideas we already have in play; These are just a quick one, I'll try to get the whole list when I have more time;Move away from me, Move away from me when moved away, Stay close, Stay Close when staying close (for this one I was thinking " if I get any closer sugar you'r going to have to buy me a diamond ring/wedding ring"), Share inventory, Gift (special inventory items, similar to veronica's dress), Wait here, Follow me, Passive, Passive when passive, Aggressive, Aggressive when Aggressive, Split up, Split-Lucky 38, Join up. And we're looking for a very iconic Marilyn from the dialog, but it'd be a bonus if we can get some NV lore in there too. Running a little late so I'm just gonna post some topics we were brainstorming (hopefully it's not too disjointed to folow); I want to keep it as lore friendly as possible. I want to make the Marilyn-bot Bethesta didn't have time for. I've included answers for if the player asks about Mr house, Jane or the strip. Sounds good, to start with I'd say a quest to activate/repair her. Here we have a branching quest line depending on whether House is alive or dead, and if alive whether the courier is working for him; If House is killed by the courier, she will also need to be reprogrammed during the activation process (as she was very loyal to Mr. House). If House is alive we should provide an option for him to allow/direct Maryilyn to follow the player. In addition the player should be able to upgrade her to a MK II, if House has been killed and the courier has completed the upgrade process in the securitron mini-vault. Some random ideas; Songs. If you can sing or if her songs are public domain we can use the playmusic command to have her sing songs, and bundle them as MP3's. This will keep the file size much smaller than *.wav or even *.ogg files used for dialog. A more advanced companion quest to transfer her programming into a humanoid robotic body. Every companion has a specific companion quest, I thought this could be hers. It would be much like the other companions quest in, that it would only be done after you had acquired her trust and had traveled with her for a while. I have permission from SmileyTops to use his ST robot race, which would make a good base. I'd just add a robotic face that resembles Marilyn's & a chrome texture. I think it's such an obvious story line, I couldn't help but mention it. In addition it's relatively lore friendly as humanoid robots were used in high numbers by the calculator and transferring a securitron's AI was done by to Yesman (to the mainframe). In addition, we could also expand on Jane (especially if you think you could do a Jane Russell voice). [8:57:12 AM] devin.patterson001: I'v been working on niViscontroller nodes. Robots can change their model in game, so they can't put on a hat or any equipment. But the niViscontroller nodes would allow me to add stuff to them. Definitely should be a major component of her dialog and her companion quest. Also ties in with the robotic body if you decide to go that way. I don't need to touch them. Not even talk. A feeling passes between you both. You're not alone." Quote possibly relating to the NCR or Hoover Dam:"To put it bluntly, I seem to have a whole superstructure with no foundation. But I'm working on the foundation." Other quotes that might be handy:"The body is meant to be seen, not all covered up." I was looking for a thing like this but I didn't knew how to mod and i didn't have a voice,just the ideas.So,congratulations. The idea to transplant her "brain" in a body is a very nice idea,I think on this one a type 3 body would be good,as its one of the body replacer wich is the most using here,plus a custom hair.There should be a moral choice there,either the player prefer to upgrade her more and more,but keeping her a robot with a basic soul,or choosing to go down cinemas and libraries to find references and quotes,to reach a new area where some technicians would put her AI as a 98 % humain brain,so she will not just be a hot woman with smoothy talks (In-game I mean).Then thoses technicians would transplant the brain to the body.But as a "body",I mean a real human body,created without brain but with 2 different DNAs.As this,the M.M's brain will get in this body.Because,I find thoses robot races kinda creepy for a beautiful woman like her...Transplanting Jane would be nice too.And the possibilityto have a love relationship with Marilyn (I mean,without including Sexual Innuendo or Animated prostitution,just a normal relationship,with fade-to-black screen).
