devinpatterson
dp, in Skunkwater Gulch there is a quest revolving around restoring a robobrain to a human body, if you want to see how I did it. Defintely I'll take a look. I remember Janet, I enjoyed that questline. Would you by chance remember any canon lore about a AI (no brain, just secruitron) being placed into a human body, it'd be great to have some precedent so she can get a human (or android) body for her companion quest. Otherwise she's just going to have to interact in a more physical way while only in a VR. And the reverse-we're kind of playing with the idea these were real starlets, whose consciousnesses were imprinted on the bots, to provide them with a immortality to live alongside house. It has a lot of plot holes (like why didn't House do that), but it makes a more engrossing story.
flamenx01
For AI being put in human bodies their is the androids from Fallout 3 (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Android) which are humanoid in appearance. As for the reverse I'm not sure about that but for Mr House not having the same procedure how about it restricts mental ability or awareness of your surroundings? I also found some more Marilyn movie quotes:"Haven't you bothered me enough, you big banana-head?" (from The Asphalt Jungle)"Who wouldn't want to meet a man who has millions who isn't even bald" (from Let's Make it Legal") (Possibly used about Mr House) Edited October 5, 2012 by flamenx01

devinpatterson
"Haven't you bothered me enough, you big banana-head?" (from The Asphalt Jungle) I don't know why (maybe it's the immature side of me), but I find that quote freak'n hilarious. For AI being put in human bodies their is the androids from Fallout 3 (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Android) which are humanoid in appearance. Yep I think were going with an android. A deactivated/untested prototype model in Cerulean Robotics. But for a later revision I have this idea. What if there was a museum dedicated to the golden age of Hollywood (or current prewar, since that fallout culture seems stuck in that same 50's era culturally) in the same theme as a wax museum. But instead of wax dummies, it would have course take advantage of androids playing the part of different scenes from classic movies. To me there is something poetic about these "actors" playing out the same scenes for two centures until they eventually crumble into dust. I know jack about Marilyn, other than she was a knockout and her life tragic. But I thought for her studio/scene in teh wax museum, it could be of a flick reminiscent of asphalt jungle....but even more of a gangster type movie. We could have one of the fallout 50's diners on the stage, a the vicky and vance car parked just outside it. Mobsters in their fedora's and three piece suits, toting tommy guns (how did they get live ammo? Not too sure on that one, maybe it's a defense protocol when the war started). In front of the stage long dead, skeletal audience members draped over the chairs, surrounded by junk food wrappers etc. The androids playing their parts, espousing their dialog to entertain a long dead, captive audience, which was never allowed to leave because no one in the mainframe control center was left alive to reset the programming. Notes scribbled on paper money and junk food wrappers to loved ones, describing how the androids kept every one inside "for their own safety, until the appropriate authorities arrive". Customers that didn't die trying to overwhelm the androids, died of illness, went raving mad watching the same scene played out the 1000th time etc. This would mean the player would have to work to get her new body. But they wouldn't be the only stage you'd have to pass, just the last one. Each stage would be in it's own room and be linear for the tour. A western stage filled with fake pines, with a 6'4" android that goes by the name of one of John Waynes movie parts, and is surprisingly quick with a lever action rifle. A stage filled with a WWII scene, including nazi's and rather effective pre-war machine guns. Or a movie based on the liberation of Alaska etc. Maybe even one stage that had a comedy to break up the combat. Plus there could be all kinds of Hollywood related items in the museum itself. Collectibles like Dean Dominoes hat, dontated in 2065, to glitzy swag in the gift shop. What do you guys think? A surreal experience worth putting together? she also found albert einstine very sexy so you could try hooking her up with one of the big mountain folks.... Wow that is weird. But I do remember reading somewhere that Albert was something of a man-prostitute, and hooked up or married his first cousin. Strange world..... flamenx01
Sounds very ambitious but very cool. Once my uni work calms down I will be able to help in anyway I can.
devinpatterson
Sounds very ambitious but very cool. Well I was thinking of keeping it a rather modest effort by using existing assets and keeping new resources to a minimum. So for instance the ganster stage should be all existing resources. The western, just your everyday NV junk. The WWII stage will us U.S. and nazi, but heck they should be somewhere on nexus and the anchorage liberation flick should just use some of the anchorage winterized equipment. I mean I'll have to do some retextures for posters, signs and swag, but I don't think that will be a killer. Oh and the anchorage stage might be a little tricky since I have no idea how to put snow in a interior cell. Can't imagine the landscaping tools would be available. So I'll probably have to re-texture some dirt tiles. But overall I don't think the nuts and bolts are very ambitious, it's more of the story/atmosphere that will carry the mod (or cause it to flop). Maybe a "I love lucy" (or fallout's version, maybe "I love Luella") with a kitchen stage, to break up the combat a little and let the player stock up on some consumables. I'm also curious how difficult it will be to modify packages to look like an actual scene being played out between two or more characters. Oh and if there was voicework, that could be involved :( Once my uni work calms down I will be able to help in anyway I can. Uni work? Thanks Flamenx01 I appreciate it
flamenx01
Oh and if there was voicework, that could be involved :( I wonder if there is anyway you could make them in a Silent Movie Style with Captions appearing at the bottom of the stage. Probably harder than the voice work though to implement. Uni work? I know it's usually an oxymoron but I do have two assignment this week.

Might even be possible to put the hud in black and white. I know it's usually an oxymoron but I do have two assignment this week. Oh, university, gotcha. Sorry thought you meant a mod project. TrooperScooperMKII
Marilyn was actually quite intelligent IIRC (she was typecast as the dumb blonde because, well, 50s Hollywood) and her third husband was Arthur Miller. (the egghead and the hourglass) interestingly, she refused to disassociate with him when he was caught up in McCarthy's blacklisting, calling them cowards... devinpatterson
Marilyn was actually quite intelligent IIRC...... I can believe it, I'v only done very cursory research, but it looks like she had hidden depths, that just didn't fit peoples stereo types of her.
