Wildfire couldn’t believe his eyes . “who are you” wildfire asked. “ my name is Alexis” the girl told him wiping blood of her armor. “IDIOTS!” A voice bellowed “CAN’T YOU DO ANYTHING RIGHT?!?!” the two mercs looked up to see one of the warlords standing on a ledge. Alexis took of her right hand glove and faced her hand towards the thug that thought himself a lord. The room lit up with a white light as a flame of the same color sprang from her palm. The fire roared through the air and hit the ‘warlord’ in the chest. He armor was burned badly but that was all. Wildfire watched in shock. “nice try little girl” the warlord taunted. “IDIOT! IDIOT! PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER! wildfire mentally scolded himself . “YOU’RE A PROFESSIONAL! ACT LIKE IT!!! TALKING COMES LATER! Wildfire got up and faced the warlord. He removed his battle suit’s right glove and faced his palm towards the madman. “ she didn’t do anything what makes you different?” the thug said. Wildfire said only one word. “experience”. the room lit up again this time with a blood red light. Alexis’s blast was a foot wide. Wildfire’s was 5 feet wide. All that was left was a pile of ash and a discoloring on the wall in the shape of a human.

 

 

“how did you do that?!” Alexis asked, as shocked as wildfire was when she fired her blast. “ there’s four more scumbags left. After that let’s get our pay and then we can talk: he told her. The rest of the job was uneventful. The only difference from a normal job was that Alexis was the queen of overkill. One of the ‘warlords’ had his ribcage blow out of his back thanks to her 75 pound war hammer.

 

 

(After they got their pay)

 

“Ok” Alexis said “ who are you. I’ve never seen anyone use fire like me.” wildfire was silent for a bit, then said “I am a bio weapon. The result of years of research and testing. Something happened, I don’t know what but we were going to be killed.” “we?” Alexis said. “what do you mean we?”. “ there was also a woman. We called her shade. She was like me. They were going to kill her. I couldn’t allow that. We were at the exit the a guard killed her.” Alexis noticed a red line coming from his right eye. “ what I didn’t know was that she was still alive. Months later she found me. We’ve been living together ever since.” “so how do I fit into all of this?” Alexis asked. “ it happened before the accident. They told us it was a simple blood test. What I didn’t know what that they were really going to combined our DNA. Alexis’s face went white. “does that mean I‘m…”he didn’t say anything, he didn’t have to, they both knew the answer…
