RandomJF
Generally neutral here - I always have to kill people, but at the same time I get fame for doing all the side quests. I tried staying completely good, even managed to finish Knights of the Nine. Got bored of that character. Made a new one, evil. Next two, neutral (DB, then FG/MG). Current one is on 7/11 infamy (+4 infamy for eating a heart -.-). Not quite the sneaky type, either, so I'm probably going to end up a bit more good than evil. DavidWhitefang
Whenever I've started a new game, I stay 'good' until I complete the nights of the nine, which I get done as quickly as possible. Then I play more neutral.
Jenz
I am mostly neutral i guess, at the beginning i was almost a good as a prist but that suddenly took a dramatic change after that Mehurnes Dagon came to town.Although i havent sunken to the level of those in Dark Brotherhood. No offense, you guys are neccercary to keep the world spinning. If assasins didn't exist countries would be run by people with a IQ bellow avreage roomtemparture.
Blake4000
I like to go on killing sprees and rampages, if that constitutes as a evil character, then yeh, thats what most of my characters are.
XG08Zero
I think the reason why I rarely see people play truly "good" characters is just the NPC AI. When in cities and towns, the NPC's as well as the whole atmosphere is just extremely bland in my opinion. People walking around in stiff positions giving bland conversations - no real activity going on. I was attracted to each city when I first visited and explored most of them - but after that it just wasn't a fun place to be. People were boring and there was much more to do out in the wild. to be honest, I felt there was more atmosphere in the Hyrule Market District in Zelda: Ocarina of Time for N64. When I downloaded the zelda music mod for oblivion - the music brought back nostalgia of the old days where I would easily spend hours in the market district because it just felt so lively - kids running around, dogs running around, people dancing, the music - it made me realize how extremely bland oblivion feels. the way NPC's interact in oblivion is just boring - and when you just can't feel a sense of connection with the community - you really stop caring about being a "good" character. I feel that the "immersion" in the game really stands from out in the wilderness. I can spend hours exploring the vast landscape and running into various packs of enemies. When I step into town, I come crashing back to reality when I see every single townsperson walking like zombies and the absolutely dull atmosphere strikes. it may sound like a rant, but it mostly stems from me being anxious for a new elder scrolls. I've overplayed oblivion so much that I want to see how much better the experience can get with how much technology has aged over the past years since Oblivion's release. It feels like the best mods these days are adding features just to revive old game mechanics that are showing age - Deadly Reflex being an excellent example. kylebraden
For me, my character is always evil from the start. I have a routine of traveling from the sewers to the Roxey inn, where i kill the mounted legionnaire and get in the dark brotherhood. While i progress through the ranks of the DB, i aimlessly kill all those who stand within my sight for leisure. Once i am finished wit the DB, i move onto the thieves guild. Around that time i stop the murders. After im done with that, i do the pilgrimage for the NOTN quest, then i stop being evil. I do the Knights of the nine and become a right good hero. I do mages and fighters guilds, then the main quest. After all that, i saunter around towns like a rock star and do quests for my good people of Tamriel. madman132
Im a good guy. Im the sort of good guy you may want to see more in Movies and the like, because i'm not the pure Goodness descendet straight from the heavens. I play Characters who are, to an extend, a better Version of myself. "Myself" is a good guy, who doesnt frown against Santa Claus even if he doesnt bring him the Presents he deserved. I dont believe in a "higher Power", if there is anything to be "divine" in my World, it will have to be me. thats my Character. Friendly to everyone, with more Patience and forgiveness than most Gods would seem to have, if you read the Bible and believe in that Stuff. But then again, i am a Human. If someone is working my last Nerve for too long, he will regret it for the Rest of his Life. Both seconds of it!
elgareth
Depends on your definition of what is Good and what is Evil. Is killing Ulrich Leland evil? Or is it justice? I try to avoid Infamy, though, and most quests support you helping people more than killing people. With Ulrich, though, due to the Mages Guild quest line with the locked well - I couldn't resist having Ulirch follow me down there. And then, well - he didn't come back... I wish there were more options to complete some quests! If I had any real grasp of scripting, I'd try to mod some so that I had more options. wasder
Being good, being evil, ying and yang, I've come over all philosophical. Weeeeeell then, lets see, balancing yourself isn't hard, just do what your heart tells you. Yes! Cliche.Just do loads of quests, you have to try really hard to be evil in Oblivion. Killing people is mindless, evil, but not the cruel, malevolent evil. The really nasty type. You always end up being good unless you refuse to do anything but the DB. Thats the only evil you can do and not get caught (and without being slaughter). PS I'm wrong. Murder random people in their sleep. Pick a target and follow them untill the time is right then... Guest deleted829424
My character was a Holy Paladin and a member of the Elder council until he did a quest that made him witness so much human depravity he was driven mad and his sense of right and wrong was corrupted. He now thinks that the God's are what made evil, and dedicates his life to kill all those foolish advocates of the Nine.
