Low FPS after dying

Hi all,

I'm playing classic Skyrim with more than acceptable FPS since I'm playing in a laptop and my game is heavily modded. I experience framerates of 30-56 in exteriors and 40-60 in interiors.

What I recently discovered is that as soon as my character dies (when the death animation is shown), the FPS drop to 20-27 and it doesn't get back to the previous performance even when reloading or hitting alt+tab. I'm forced to close the game and start it again.

 

Has anyone experienced this? I searched online and in this forum and I couldn't find anyone having this specific issue and I tried several solutions:

- Cleaning my save games using Skyrim save cleaner

- Using LOOT to alter the mod load order

- Using TES5Edit to clean the mod files

- Disabling and reenabling mods that use scripts

 

I'm using SKSE version 1.7.3 and Skyrim 1.9.32.

 

My specs are the following:

Core i5-7200U

8GB RAM

Windows 10 Home edition

Intel® HD Graphics 620
