Clarification request for esp to esl conversion with CK

Hi;

I just need one or two details for the conversion of my .esp2.esl

I just converted my first mod successfully using the method:

Step One:
- Open the CK, hit "File" in the top toolbar and select "Data" from the roll-out menu. Wait for the CK to finish.

Step Two:
- In the Data menu that opened in a small window, scroll through the list with plugins to the one you want to convert, select it and hit "Set as Active File". The selected esp will get its box ticked in the Data menu list. Click "OK" and wait for the action to finish

Step Three:
- Hit "File" again in the top toolbar and now select "Compact File Forms IDs" from the pop-up menu and then select "Yes" in the Confirm Box* that pops up. A "Done" message will appear with the active file form's I.D. number. Just click "OK".

Step Four:
- Hit "File" again and now select "Convert Active File to Light Master" from the pop-up menu. In the confirm box that pops up, hit "OK" and you are done.

Step Five:
- Open your Mod Manager, and activate the new esl file, then open your game's data folder and throw the esp of the mod you just converted in the waste bin.

One thing is bothering me; before making the conversion; Loot had 232 mods installed and after the conversion; there are still 232 mods installed and not 231. (Yet, I removed the esp from the Fallout 4 data file) ; Why ?

Secondly; when I use the method above; I modify the game itself. What I would like to know; if it's possible to do it but only on the mod itself without it installed?

What I mean; This is for example I have a mod xyz with a esp; a meshes folder and a textures folder not installed in the game. (I make systematic backups of all the mods that I download on an external hard drive, it saves me from losing them in case they are removed from Nexus, for example; for one reason or another). Is it possible to convert the .esp with CK without installing them?

Thank you for your answers (I hope my English is understandable)

1) It created an additional .esl file, you removed the .esp file. x+1-1=x

2) Yes you can convert an esp without installing anything else to your data folder.

1. Yes; mathematically; that's right. I just understood. Loot shows me all active plugins (esp + esl); I found in vortex where to see the mods accounted in the limit of 255

Thank you; I didn't understand correctly how to count active plugins

2. How should I do ? I need to import the esp file into CK? And the steps are the same as that of the methods mentioned above? Or is the method totally different?
