My wishlist!

 

1. A Radio channel where you can put ur own music in. Also able to put certain mp3's in so you can make your own radio. Or an MP3 player using your Pip Boy.

 

2. More variety in enemies.

 

3. Unique Crippling. When something is crippled more visual on the crippled bodypart. There isn't that much of a huge difference in movement when the person is crippled. Also if someone moves with a crippled leg he takes periodic damage and cannot move for a couple of seconds.

 

4. Slow the leveling!

 

5. More Clothes and weapons!

 

6. Keep dogmeat alive!

 

7. Vehicles (Probably the hardest one to do.)

 

8. New Hair and body models.

 

9. New homes.

 

10. Added effects on drugs. Like, if you take psycho your vision is slightly tinted red. If you take jet, your vision is slightly blurred. If you take multiple drugs, overdose is possible. Also New Drugs such as one that steadies your hand while aiming through a scope or in first person mode.

 

11. Many more creative quests. Like surviving a Zombie infestation in a mall for a certain amount of time.

 

12. Hunger. You are required to eat something to stay alive. Will lose health and stats steadily if you don't.

 

13. Player mutation from radiation or infection.

 

14. Diseases so that the infirmary can be used for something else.

 

15. New animation. I always wanted to rifle butt a zombie in the face and then shoot him in the face while he's recovering.

 

16. Custom bullets. Like an explosive round for the 10mm handgun. Or a bullet that counteracts the metabolism in Super Mutants so that their aim and movement is weak.

 

17. A Bounty Hunter quest line. You get your contracts and you kill a named npc. It randomly generates an NPC somewhere in the world. Contract gives detail of where this guy is. Should be interesting.

 

18. New Factions.

 

19. Expanded Wasteland. Bigger place, more areas, and more side stories.

 

20. Upgradeable, customizable weapons. Adding a silencer to the Sniper rifle, or a scope to the assault rifle might be pretty cool and useful.

Since we're all adding out wish lists:

 

1. As others have posted in another thread, I want a weather system. Acid rain (minor damage, damage to any equipped weapons/clothing, minor radiation), Radiated Fog (constant radiation), Dust storm (damage to equipped weapons/clothing). They also suggested with no ozone, having the sun be rather nasty, so having dark clouds, normal cover, and blazing hot sun. Would be pretty awesome. There's actually a good set of audio drama stories I know to get a good feel for this. Tales From The Afternow is how I picture weather and society in the DC area. The sun bit would make traveling at night safer. It also makes the sun perk more viable because it could make you resistant to the nasty damage the raw sun could cause. In addition, if the sun effect is added, some towns will need some screening over them to protect from the sun. This would also allow for new armors build to resist specific weather effects.

 

2. Radio. Radio. Radio. We all really want it, and it would be so cool. Okay... I know I sound like I'm advertising that show, but actually just putting the Afternow audio above into the radio player would be awesome. Granted I know we can do this already by editing the file, but I'd like a program I can just drag and drop. I'd like to see more radio channels and such, not just replacing music on one station. I'd also like to see NPC's switch the radio station from time to time.

 

3. A hunger mod would add a great deal of immersion. The risk of drinking and eating unhealthy sources of water and food. Having to hunt for food. I'd also like to see a detox kit to add to items to reduce the radiation in them, but it should also reduce the healing ability in the item as you reduce it so much (as well as how much food it provides in hunger mod). I'd also like to see Super Mutants and other cannibals actually hunting humans for food, not just killing them then walking away. It would also be nice to see more food on folks you kill. Killing a gang of raiders in the middle of the wasteland and not finding a crumb on them if kinda weird.

 

4. I'd like motorcycles and such just like everyone else, but I want someone to port the Horse code over from Oblivion and make a mutated a horse to mount up on. I play my characters as kinda traveling gunslingers, so while a motorcycle would be a fun ride, something about mounting up on a horse in the wasteland would rock.

 

5. I really want NPC's to be more intelligent about their items. If I go into a guy's lab, and there are death traps leading into his lab so I'm the only one who goes into it and when I leave half his gear is missing... he should know I took his stuff. Just wish NPC's would look for their items. After a few game hours/days they should give up (depending on the NPC of course), but it just seems weird that I can take an item, put it on, and talk to the guy without him noticing.

 

6. More Weapons. I know the game is supposed to be a stylized view of the future ala the 40's and 50's, but I'd like to see more modern weapons, as well as more sci-fi weapons. I'd also like to see if we can get the bow animations from Oblivion in. I mean with the limited supply of ammo there would be in this world, a bow and arrow would be a good weapon set. I don't know if you'd see much wood, but plastics and metal rods could work, especially if someone had enough know how to make a high tension bow. I'd also like to be able to throw a knife at folks.

 

7. We all want it, an OOO version for fallout. More enemy varients, more ares, items, everything. I know it'll be sometime for this, but I'm so looking forward to it.

 

8. An alternative to the pip-boy for the HUD system. I know and understand why it's there, but I'd like something like pip-boy glasses to wear for my character, or some sort of PDA my character could take out when I press tab. I like the pip-boy, but it would just be cool to have an alternative, both for aesthetic reasons and for visibility (because sometime it just doesn't look right with certain outfits.

 

9. Expand the wasteland. I'd like to go further and further in each direction. We're got real world maps for the topography, and with the alternative time line, it'll be easy to add new structures. What would be nice is to have groups of people to get together to focus on an area. Get modders together to start developing their own quest lines and locations (such as the thunder dome stuff people have been suggesting). I kinda prefer this as opposed to adding too much new stuff to the current area. I like the idea of feeling like everything in the wastes is far apart.

 

10. I'd like to actually see some mutants in the game as playable. Ghouls, Super-mutants, etc. Heck... someone port over some races from Oblivion. I'd like to see factions go with these as well, giving your character the ability to play a super-mutant, get along with super-mutants, and go hunt yourself some humans, especially the ones in the steel cans with the lasers.

I actually like this idea. Your hand is already "steady" though when aiming in first person, unless you mean added accuracy chance of the shot landing in the technical sense. It would be cool for one of the drugs to make your aim very wobbly and unsteady, maybe psycho when used for melee combat/unarmed. Drinking alcohol should also have an effect like blurred vision or disorientation so that it makes it a bit harder to move they way you want your character to move.

I wanted to elaborate on my wants in a disease/infection mod. Some of the creatures in the game(ie bloat flies, centaurs) have the ability to spit. A successful hit should have a % to be infected or diseased depending on the creature. With the implementation of this mod it would also be nice to see a new type of spitting creature such as spitting ants or something like a floater from FO1 that spits. This would open possibilities for new meds and perks and possibly new ways to create the dart gun.

 

I would also like to see more junk items and schematics for them. Maybe ghouls could have a chance to drop pieces of meat to make a ghoul mask. Instead of having to kill everyone in Tenpenny. Not that I didn't enjoy every second of it.

If you want something scary like evil kids or dolls, use the betty npc when you go into the simulator, and give it a kitchen knife.... *shivers* freaky if you can make it chase you down a dark hallway...

 

For more schematics how about these:

 

Power Claws - Think of power fists, but with deadly blade for claws, can be enhance to have a poison effect.

 

Stun-gun - A simple tranquilizer that puts any npcs that is shot, into a deep sleep (unconciousness), any npc seeing you shoot someone with it should still count as a normal weapon shot.

 

Infection Gun - turns npcs into an even more zombified version of the ghouls (can break the game), can work by removing the npc and spawning a custom zombie npc in it's place, with the name added onto it.

Talk to masterfreek or The Stalker at Oblivion Online to ask if hes interested, but right now hes working on a OO multiplayer.

 

 

 

... EDIT: I figured out a way to make the gameplay more freaky, find a hospital or school "dungeon" and make it spawn countless children mutants, which are freaky, and have twitchy heads and welds kitchen knives, and runs at you.

I'm looking for a mod that will make the entire character creation and maintenance system feel a mite more like the original Fallout games. I enjoy the game as it is, but I'll be honest that of all of the system changes, I was most disappointed about the near obsoleted Tag skill system. In the original, there was a strategic element to choosing your tag skills, as they would develop more quickly (I think at a 2-to-1 ratio below 100%?) Now it's just a one-time skill point bonus.

 

I'd like a single mod, or perhaps a set of mods that revamp the Tag skill system, the percentage caps on Skills raised to 200% (With percentages above 100% costing extra (double, maybe?) And a system of self-balancing Traits (i.e. Fast Metabolism, Bruiser, Night Person, Bloody Mess) chosen at character creation. I know these are implemented in-game as perks, but it feels like the character creation system is just neutered in the most recent Fallout.

 

I really appreciate the character creation system via the "You're SPECIAL" book and the "GOAT", it's a good, smooth way to keep the game moving forward and introduce concepts gradually during the tutorial stages (Always a good idea), but would it be impossible to add another item somewhere during the initial character creation that allows the choice of 2 traits? If not an item, then just a quick menu upon leaving the vault at the very least.

 

Aside from some in-game character traits, I agree I'd like to see (cosmetically) some variation to body types. Pudgy people, skinny, muscular... And if someone was particularly enterprising, it could link to the character's physical stats (Strength for muscle size, Agility for weight, etc.). I don't know, just throwing out ideas. Just seems like my brawler with a strength of 10 should look a little more robust than the surprisingly hardy-looking (if badly dressed) homeless pure-water beggars outside of the major civilization centers.
