Is something wrong? 2handers are shorther than 1handers

Long story short. I made a new character who swings 2h weapons. I noticed yesterday that something feels a bit off. I went to the backyard of the companions and did some testing with 2h and 1h weapons(minus daggers) on those practice dummies.

 

The results were baffling. I can hit the dummies with a 1h mace from way further away than I can with a 2 handed axe/sword. It's ridiculous. If I switch to third person the distance seems about right for the 2hander. the tip of the claymore (almost)reached the dummy when I was close enough to hit it. Then I tried the mace. I could hit it from much further away than I could with the claymore, and there was at least half a meter of empty space between the tip of the mace and the little dust effect that comes with the hit.

 

How's the situation for you? If any of you who play unmodded tried a bit of testing I would be most grateful The first guy I ever made used 2handers too, and I seem to recall the reach being longer. That was just after the game was released, before I had any patches or mods, though. Now I have used a combat altering mod(deadly combat,) but I uninstalled it using the NMM.

EDIT: Ran BOSS. It just told me to enable only one of the cloak mods esp files.

 

EDIT: My friend with 360 did some testing with 1h and 2h axes and came to the same conclusion: 1handers have a noticeable reach advantage over 2handers. Makes perfect sense.
