becca87
So a few months ago (back in July or so) I updated my Skyrim SE (I want to say RaceMenu had wanted updated game but now that I think about I might have read something wrong). Well, I then updated SKSE to the most current one that works with my runtime (1.5.80) but when I try to run the game thru SKSE launcher via Vortex it says "You are using a newer version of Skyrim than this version of SKSE support..." then finishes listing my current runtime (which matches the most up to date SKSE, 2.0.16) but that I'm running SKSE 2.015. I downloaded the newest SKSE and extracted the .dlls and .exe to my SSE folder (not Data). I took a break from trying to figure out what I did wrong but have been itching to play SSE and can't figure out what I did wrong. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it. Algabar
You also need to install the scripts to the "data" folder. Besides that, you should manually remove .dll files from previous versions. This is often overlooked. Also remember to launch the game with skseloader.exe (not SkyrimSE.exe or Steam). These are some the most common mistakes.
becca87
The deleting the .dll files and .exe file and extracting them 2.0.16 in works. I think I forgot to do that originally since before I got rid of them, the launcher was dated from March >.> But it works. Thank you so much!
