Super Project:Cleaning Out the Clutter

Ok, so I have been thinking for a while, as I so often do about things. And I was just, you know, playing Oblivion, raiding some dungeons, the usual.

Does anyone notice how annoying it is to find a chest at the back of a cave, and find yarn, folded cloth, and some tongs?

I do not think I am entirely alone in thinking that there are a lot of useless items in this game, and obviously a lot of unexplored areas.

So as i was thinking, it came to me that someone should do away with all of these useless objects...no no no... not delete them all, but give them a PURPOSE. There have been many people who have done this sort of thing. Changed lights, crystal balls, brooms, etc. Well what about the rest of the stuff?

If enough competant people got together on this, and came up with some decent ideas, think of how much more immersive the game would be...if you actually wanted to seek these previously useless items for what they could do.

Now as I am practically incapable of anything but thinking and doing the basics...I really think a bunch of us should get together to fix this annoyance and add new realisms to the gameplay.

I already have a bunch of ideas, the most formed of which is a little branch from Midas' Aurum Assimilator. With that idea in mind, cloth and yarn, and all those other useless clothes could be transformed into new clothes, new light armors etc (maybe even based on some modded in armors) Broken down into yarn/thread, and depending on how much of it you have, how much you can make.

similarly with armor... all those blacksmiths' furnaces and tongs and anvils... recycle your rust iron daggers an make a gleaming iron longsword (based on armorer skill)

There are two (that I know of at least) flying broom mods (which should be expanded upon)

Rowboat/ ship capability could be modified.

Pickaxes and shovels could be used to dig caves (hmmmm...that would be cool) and mine for precious stones.

There is a mod that lets you train on those training sets.

I cannot say that I actually have an idea for the following: inkwell, crumpled paper, paper, paintbrush...but there are other minds too!!!

Just lets get talking about this and stuff will happen!

not quite... :closedeyes: but yes that was part of my idea and a much better representation of it in fact. But on a larger scale. As it stands currently... i have left this ship for a more personal endeavor, another shot at making my ice city, now named Alsiae, formerly Glacia (someone had told me they had heard the name Glacia before so I changed it.) There are posts from both. Need plenty of assistance, you are welcome to join if you have any free time!
