BaldurAnthology
Greebo was positively SHOCKED. That was the most words the old ghoul had ever heard out of Jason's mouth. After a shaky sip of the cordial, Greebo laughed and said, "Top ho, old boy! I knew you could be more outspoken, eh what? Ha ha! Smashing dear boy, it's going to be delightful to travel with you again! Now, things you should know about me, I'm a corking shot with a sniper rifle, but I also can use a 10 mm pistol, and my machete. Don't harm Diefenbaker, and I won't harm you. Also, I won't harm Guardian." He nodded at Jason, and finished his drink.
Flipout6
Renato followed Lady Kihlkov into the booth, not sure what to do from here. He knew that she seemed to be together with the guy by the stage, so he wouldn't be taking anything too far without some thought behind it at least. Jason cringed. "Doesn't happen often." He finished off his drink. "Save the rest...in case we need it." The last part sounded almost ominous. "I'm ready." He stated, and walked outside to wait. The Mojave sun beat down upon his head, and he placed his sunglasses back on. He hated the heat, he was used to the Capital Wasteland even four years later, but he'd been in worse places. One in particular stuck out in his mind, perhaps the most hellish place he'd ever seen. Even at noon the place was perhaps as bright as a late evening in the Mojave. It was all scorched rock, not even sand dared drift into that place. The wind, the very air was dry, what little water existed was irradiated to hell. Massive amount of radiation discoloured the sky. One hour it could be a rich red and the other a pale, sickly green, and you could see the wind blowing it around. Jason had almost died in that place, a combination of radiation poisoning and dehydration, even though he'd only been there a day and a half. The scarce trace of civilization that lived on the borders of Hell, as it was simply called, were mutated and usually ghouls. It was a place that Jason would remember for the rest of his life. He snapped back into reality, and checked his gear. "Let's go." He said to Greebo within the lobby.
Macman253
Jace Winters watched as the battle raged on and abruptly ended. He looked down the scope of his plasma rifle and watched the citizens recover themselves from the battle, his power armor highlighted in the sunlight and the breeze picked up his raggedy cloak that hung off his back and his power pack. He had been sent to observe the GLF by The Gun Runners for some unknown reason but caps were caps to him and his simple motto served him well "Everybody Pays." He was tired of giving his martial services for country and politics. After the battle of hoover dam he had seen the world for what it was and how he despised it. He walked down towards Novac, he felt the gaze of the snipers scope on him and as he approached the town guards came out from their hiding places with small arms and sticks. He stood still, his plasma rifle slung over his shoulder and his cloak whipping in the wind. "Remove your helmet or we shoot..." One of the guards said as he aimed a small .22 rifle at the armored stranger, his hands shook so fiercely that he doubted he could hit him so he did as he was told. He removed his helmet to show a heavily scarred face with a cybernetic eye and a large burn scar around the eye glaring into their eyes, he hooked the helmet on his belt and ran a hand through his Mohawk. His armor didn't appear to be like those of the brotherhood, it was smaller and more dexterous but it seemed less armored and worn, countless years of fighting had worn the paint away and left shining bits of metal underneath. "My name is Jace." He said calmly.
Flipout6
It certainly didn't take long for Jason to react to this new stranger. When he first saw him he thought the man was an Enclave soldier, and he was lucky he removed his helmet quickly and didn't shoot anybody. Jace was his name, Jason heard that much. "That's Enclave armor." Jason announced. He had his revolver aimed at the man's head, an expression of cold anger on his face. Out of respect for Greebo's moral code he hadn't shot this man yet. "Explain. Yourself." He enunciated each word through gritted teeth. Even the average Capital Wastelander held some sort of contempt for the Enclave, but Jason hated them, even for a Brotherhood Paladin. His trigger finger was begging for him to fire, and despite the control he usually had over himself he could barely resist doing exactly so. The guards backed up and watched, confused. mythicdawnmaster
Kihlkov smiled at Renato as he sat down, and broke the momentary silence which was formed as she swallowed her drink. "By the looks of you, i'd say you've been travelling on foot for a while, or, at least you've been in the desert. You just a lone wonderer then?" She enquired. BaldurAnthology
Greebo had returned his shades to his face, and had walked in the direction of the Regulator headquarters, and then he noticed Jason hadn't followed, instead was pointing a gun at a man in what he had called 'Enclave Armor'. Greebo headed over and pressed his hand on Jason's gun, and said, "I say old chap, there's no need to do anything rash, eh what? So he is or was with the enclave. We all have our past, dear boy." He extended a hand towards the newcomer to shake. "Greebo Jones, dear boy. A pleasure to meet you, until you prove otherwise, mainly by attacking us, or attempting to harm Diefenbaker." The husky in question was sniffing curiously at the Enclave man. "Mind telling me your name? I'm afraid while my eyesight remains about as good as it always was, my hearing isn't the greatest anymore."
Flipout6
Jason, still furious, only lowered his weapon when Greebo got in the way. He cursed silently. Greebo didn't know anything about him and the Brotherhood, so he couldn't explain why he hated them so much without becoming a fugitive, hunted by both the Legion and the NCR. He didn't put the magnum back in its holster, instead opting to hold it in his hand. He stood menacingly a few meters away from Greebo and Jace, silent, his long coattails billowing slightly in the wind. He considered what to do. For now Greebo was standing in his line of fire. He noted that the trooper was well armed, plasma rifle and a defender. Both powerful, semi-automatic, fragile weapons. Didn't seem to be a melee weapon of any sort. Unfortunately this was a tactical advantage that was nullified by his armor, which most of Jason's weapons would be unable to penetrate. Only his magnum and his explosives would be able to get through that. He'd fix that next time he was at the 188. Jason decided it was stupid to stand in the open when there was a very deadly potential enemy with an unknown level of skill standing right in front of him, so he moved beside some cover (a few cars stacked on top of each other.) and waited there, ready to fight in a split second. He kept glancing over his shoulder to make sure there were no reinforcements of any sort. He discreetly took a frag grenade off of his belt and held it in his hand. He wasn't throwing it unless a fight broke out and Greebo moved, but it never hurt to be prepared. Renato was quick to answer. "Usually not alone, I'm a caravaner. I usually have some people with me. Lately though, yes, I've mostly been alone." He stated. Edited October 23, 2012 by Flipout6
Macman253
"I am formerly of the Enclave, my rank was Specialist but I am not anymore...After the events at the Jeffersonian and the atrocities I was forced to commit under the name of the enclave I stole this armor and came west to avoid them." He said calmly, having a gun pointed at him didn't phase him. He placed the helmet over his head and clicked it back in place, the internal optics and screens lit up giving him full tactical HUD. "If I was here to kill you, you would be dead...I was hired by a interested party to keep tabs on the GLF." He said, his voice now appearing to be robotic. Flipout6
Jace's little speech about the atrocities he commited that caused him to quit was lost on Jason. His fist clenched tightly around the unactivated frag grenade. "Who's death pains you? Citizens, Brotherhood soldiers, James, perhaps?" He asked accusingly. If he found out this fellow killed any of his friends, he'd gun him down, whether Greebo approved or not. He wasn't going to reveal his past, but he'd still kill the man in a heartbeat. Macman253
"I was at the attack on the Jeffersonian...I had begun..doubting my commitments to the Enclave and as a response to that, during the battle of Edwards my family was killed." He said calmly, "But the brotherhood didn't think of the civilians on the base you just eradicated it." His hand drifted to his defender in his holster. "You can try and kill me with that grenade behind your back and that pistol on your hip but think of the civilians around you, and your friend next to you." He said, nodding to the people around him. "What about the friends of mine you killed? Tell me how many Enclave soldiers did you kill? How many did you relish in taking the lives of under the lie that is zealotry? How many of my friends did you reduce to ash under the guise of liberation...We were both fooled to believing we were the liberators. Despot, dictator, President or Elder...both men are murderers...mine just came with circuits yours came with shingles..." He recited calmly.
