bben46
Oblivion.exe is the game itself. If you do not have an Oblivion.exe, your game should not be able to run. If you installed Oblivion in the default location, using XP, It (should) be located in C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion. OBSE should be installed in this folder. Remember to use the OBSE launcher and not the Oblivion launcher to start the game with OBSE. If you use Vista and install in the default location (same as XP) you will have problems with Vista's UAC denying permissions for things like mods and OBSE. I recommend creating a new folder such as C:\Games and installing there.

I recommend creating a new folder such as C:\Games and installing there. Or you could do what I did and turn off the bloody UAC. I ONLY recommend doing this if you or your family are the only ones that ever use the computer. Most folks tell you not to turn it off for some security reasons but they're minor. IF and only IF you wish to turn it off it can be done by going to Start->Control Panel(Control Panel Home, NOT Classic View)-> User Accounts and Family Safety->User Accounts->Turn User Account Control On or Off That said, I am only telling you how, not telling you to do it. It's a choice of yours and I refuse to be held responsible for any possible problems that may or may not arise. Although for me it FIXED more problems than it created (Read:none) Edit: Here's a bit on what the UAC actually DOES. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc138019.aspx I personally would recommend you read that then make your own decision. If you're not good with computers, I would suggest leaving "UAC" alone, it's there for your protection, and just reinstalling as bBen suggested, in a new directory you make like, C:/Games. If you have a 2nd larger partition or drive, it would be good to make your new directory on the larger one.
Khet
Ahh missed the whole not good with computers part. In that case yes I would say you should rather install to a new directory (just using C:/Games like bBen said will work perfectly fine) since the UAC only affects files found in C:/Program Files/
