I'd have to call myself a theif-fighter. I'm always stealing something or pickpocketing someone. I rarely ever get caught in the act. But when I do, I've got plenty of skill to ward off the guards.

I guess I prefer more ranger-like skills in my characters since it makes them more versatile and able to fit into most guilds without too much trouble. The skill set that I like the most is for an assassin type character who, when they aren't out for the kill, is just a straighforward adventurer who can fair in the harsh environments of Vvardenfell. My personal style is pretty much the following skill set:

Short Blade

Marksman

Acrobatics

Athletics

Medium Armor

Spear

Long Blade

Alteration

Illusion

Speechcraft

It's pretty straighforward, well rounded fighter whose magical emphasis is to aid in assassin and thief feats. I usually use a spear while traveling, the only long blade I have the is the Daedric Crescent which is godly. Marksman is good for picking off those pesky cliff racers at a distance. Speechcraft is nice to have in general if you want information. I also train enchant, sneak, and armorer simply because they are nice to have trained high.

Purely Theif, I rarely get caught, but I never figuired out those probes.... <_<

Those probes are for trapped doors. Believe me they are needed :P

Now on topic, I figured out that being a mage is the best alternative to enjoy Morrowind. Because of its difficulty, I think. So, I'll take Mage ;)

Now for my input. I picked other, but now that i think about it, my fave character is more of a thief. She's a custom class, but i called her an acrobat. She has many stealth skills, but of course there are bits from other specialtes.

major: acrobatics, illusion, spear, unarmored, athletics

minor: hand-to-hand, marksman, speechcraft, enchant, security

yep. mainly thief. every skill is of much use (except hand-to-hand :ranting: . its useless in this game).

acrobatics, athletics and illusion for ease of escape, illusion and speechcraft for ease of persuasion, unarmored for swiftness of movement, security for picking doors (duh), enchant so i dont have to lug around all those potions :P , and marksman and spear so i can strike first in combat. i love the way it is set up. its my personal style.

I voted theif-fighter but now that I think about it I am more a mix of all three. I use a custom class ( ranger; like everyone else) that is stelth baced and is well rounded except in the magic area there I use mainly alcamy and then only for the money you can get from the potions ( I never use any kind of potions) but I love to sneak around and steal. The game makes it too easy to steal! :P .

please dont post any more pointless one-liners. its okay if the one-liner says something besides just "i like mages." or "i like thieves." just remember posting is only for elaboration on why you chose what you did.

and, when i say "thief" or "mage" as a poll choice, i don't mean the literal "thief" class, i mean thief-related classes (this not only includes thief, but also acrobat, assassin, agent, bard, scout, and many other, or even a custom class that uses lots of stealth skills).

this is mainly about what style you like best. stealth, magic, fighting, stealth-magic, stealth-fighting, magic-fighting, or other (anything i didn't think of).

Well you need it in Bloodmoon if you play the EEC quests. It needs to be in the upper thirties at least (trained or fortified). I had to leave the quest and get training to finish it correctly.

I find the same as Sludgewort, whatever I start as I end up as a swordsman. I generally start with major skills - longsword, security, speechcraft, illusion and alteration; minor skills - shortsword, marksman, light armour, sneak and mysticism. Not quite sure what that works out as, so I can't vote. I call my class Nightslayer.
