Im just wondering if there is such a thing as Mod overload?

Will too many mods crash your game, even if they dont conflict in OBMM?

Im just wondering as I dont want to *censored* up my game by adding too many mods, I currently have about 32 Mods installed without conflict, have any of you guys got alot more than that without trouble?

The programmed maximum is 254 individual mods active. You can exceed this by merging simple mods (equipment mods) together. Although you can go higher, doing so can increase the chances of conflicts occuring and a save to become unplayable. Generally, it is suggested for most people to only use around 100 mods at any time, unless they are experienced with modding, and understand how all their mods relate to eachother. The reason for this is simple, if you run into a problem with those 100 mods active, it is easier to determine the source than it is if you have 200+. Since mods are loaded into RAM at the start of the game, decreasing the amount of RAM the game can use, having too many active mods and less than 2gb RAM can often cause frequent crashes when changing areas.

I find that it is very easy to lose track of how many mods you have. I was really surprised when I found out that 2 months after I got Oblivion for PC I exceeded the mod limit. On a side note, why is there a mod limit?

It's your warning that you might have a problem. :D you're flagged! haha
