vallasch
Hi, i wonder if anyone can suggest a course of action. I've come across a completely unexpected and game breaking issue. I've scoured goggle and i can't find a similar situation anywhere. During the Bloodline main quest for Dawnguard as i'm bringing Serana home to the castle, the second i walk under the archway into the main hall Serana becomes hostile to everyone in the castle and vice versa. If i stand back by the door she'll walk in and do all of her dialogue etc with no problems, it only happens as soon as i (the player) cross that particular threshhold. As soon as the vampires knock Serana down Harkon will begin his dialogue, when she gets back up they attack her again and so on. I've tried going along with Harkons training and seeing if it works itself out but once finished i go back to the hall to find Serana still trying to attack people but they all just ignore her. I've also tried removing any mods i can think of that might be effecting Serana or vampires in general but it makes no difference. Strangely when i load up a previous save game and go to the same point in the quest, everything works as it should. So it seems tied to this particular playthrough but i'm at a complete loss as to what could be causing it or how to solve it. Any help or suggestions would be greatfully received, as the whole point of this playthrough was to start over to play Dawnguard from the beginning. vallasch
Well, i've just tried reinstalling skyrim with no mods and loading up the same point but the same thing happens. Does this mean it's the save itself that's been corrupted?
HighlandChicken
I've had this problem too, but only on my second game. It also happens when Serana goes to meet isran. I checked the creation kit files and serana is unagressive, so it must be the vampireas and isran.
a4638dc
I also have these issue, it seems that serana turns agressive against the vampire cattle al casttle volkihar, then starts hitting the other vampires and also if you manage to progress through the game where you meet Valerica at the soulcairn serana will also turn aggresive against her. I had uninstall everything and reinstall the game and dlc´s and the problem still persist even if its a new save game. The only solution I have found to progress trough, is to shut down Serana´s "IA" before you talk to her father and then turn her IA back on after you have turned into a vampire lord (not the combat IA that doesnt work), and at the soulcairn you have to kill both (using console comands) serana and her mother to allow them to start the "civilized" quest dialog. It could be that Serana some how detects them as hostile against the player if they are close enough and starts attacking them "even if they are´nt attacking you or have not turn agresive against you". I tried to set up serana´s hostility through "console commands" but that does´nt seems work either. Edited February 16, 2013 by a4638dc

RavenHeartwood
If you are on PC the use console command tcl (toggle collision) and run under the arch make sure you are completely under the arch then head towards lord Harkon and once you are above the ground again and past the arch use tcl to put collision back on and continue like normal
CaptainPatch
I couldn't say if yours is a Serena-only bug, but I've seen similar behavior elsewhere in the game, usually involving the use of magic with area effects. Someone in your party cast something like a Fireball or Chain Lightning which results in "friendly fire" injuries. Next thing you know, Followers are pounding on each other. If possible, just step through a doorway that takes you into a different cell. (An entirely different local map location.) Followers follow and they are no longer pounding on each other. Then step back through the portal/doorway and resume whatever it was that you were doing.
