The Wolf Poet

Greywolf

Recommended Posts

Where to begin and where to end,

shall I write a poem my friends.

What words should grace this site,

of love and life, death and night.

Should I aspire to reach some lofty height,

Should I attempt to create some written delight.

Poetry my friends is oft not easy nor hard

It is but a talent of artist and bard.

But now to my point, the reason, the rhyme

A list of poor poetry for thee to waste thy time.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Fire:

Fire

Inferno

That flaming passion inside us burns,

igniting a fuel we forgot was there

and when the ashes upon the wind blow

we'll hold onto slivered embers

Coals

Water:

Water

Tsunami

Into the depths and waves and shallows

till floating and swimming is all that we know

its water that heals, that contains our thoughts

fluid and sharp, cold and hot we think

Steam

Earth:

Earth

Foundation

Of dust and stone and sand

the dancing dunes, the dizzy cliffs,

the mountains and valleys that we trod

what we are, wind swept dust

Dirt

Air:

Air

Hurricane

Flighty and swift, dark and light

Passengers upon a gusty road

Always whispering, never silent

It calls to us in spirit form,

Wind

Love Letter

If I were to write a love letter

I know not what I would say

would I write about thy tender grace

or how the sun is outshined by thee.

Should I describe beauty of body, lust

beauty of mind, affinity

or that fragile beauty of spirit so oft forgot.

I'll never write that love letter

I know not what to say

because the love I have for thee

in words, can not be explained.

------------------------------------------------------

A single tear

A single tear

Thats all it takes

to drive me insane with grief

the strangeness is

that falling tear is not on mine

but your face.

-------------------------------------------------------

If I was to cry an ocean

If I was to cry an ocean,

and fill it with my tears

would you swim its salty waves

would you sail its curvy heights.

My grief says yes, my heart cries no,

how can I hurt so much,

when your so far,

and wont return.

The Fireplace

As I stare into the fire

and think of all I've done.

The dreams that turned to ashes,

the hopes that died in flames,

and all I held dear swept away.

I see myself anew, rising from the ashes;

the phoenix soaring above his past.

Reborn through fire, I stand firm.

Towards the future I gaze

and tear my eyes from the embers of my past.

What is that sound I hear,

in the distance

a faint call that stirs my soul

and answer it I must.

But how far will one travel

for a single cry

a call in the dark of lonilness

a relief in the time of night.

To the end of the earth and beyond

to the stars in the heaven above

just to hear that sound again.

The sound of, "I love you."

Silver eyes

I see you staring

at me.

Why is it you stare?

Why is it, I fear?

My words stumble

like a drunken man;

my eyes betray me.

How do I say the words?

I want you to hear.

I can't breathe in your presence

I can't speak.

I may be the first man

to die

from choking on love.
