Missing textures on vampire lord retexture mod

hey everyone,

i just installed this brilliant vampire lord retexture here: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/23775. I did it by dropping the data folder into "steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/data" and after that didnt work by using the NMM and in both ways the same thing happened: The texture of my character as a vampire lord is completely missing, you just can see the armor pieces floating in the air, while the retexture works fine on harkon as a vampire lord.

any suggestions what might cause this problem? Probably something with my characters' body? Like "Better Males" or the "unique character" mod?

thx in advance!

This might be a stupid question, but did you remember to only extract the files from the Data folder to your /skyrim/data folder, if you didn't.

Then you would have a Data folder inside a Data folder, which might confuse the game.

on the other hand, nexus mod manager should install correctly, i just got the mod and it installed and works.

if not, try downloading the mod again, might be a corrupt file.

Your question wasnt that stupid actually  , there was a data folder inside the data folder. I corrected that, but it doesnt work anyway. Not even with a new download and a nexus installation. Could you tell me the exact filepath for these textures? Nexus puts it in data/textures/actors/vampirelord right? The thing is that there wasnt a vampirelord folder before, whre the original vanilla textures should have been, is that correct?

thanx for the help!

Mine is "skyrim\Data\Textures\actors\vampirelord" so yeah, nexus used the right ones.

hmm :/

maybe.. are you playing on ultra?

i don't think that could be the course, but try if you're not.

oh and textures are stored in .bsa files and not in folders, but by adding the folders, you can change the textures ingame.

now that i remind myself.

if you place the mod in your skyrim folder, the game should registrar a change.

if you place the mod in here, but not in the data folder,

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim"

the mod has a folder structure like this:

data/textures/actors/vampirelord

so what you'll need to do is to place the textures folder inside the skyrim folder and not the data folder,

sounds a little complicated.

but it should look like this when you're done:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\textures\actors\vampirelord"

notice how it isen't placed into the data folder, but you'll still need to have it in your data folder anyhow.

the game should update the textures now.

hope i didn't confuse you too much ^^'

Waht I really dont get it is why I dont have the vanilla textures back after deinstalling the mod. My vampire lord stays invisible... So I thought better try playing without the retexture then, but not even this works. Can you tell me where the vanilla textures should be? Or do I have to reinstall dawnguard? Please no...
