Khet
Hmm, working on a cuirass right now and I was just wondering if there's a Symmetrical editing in blender? Another program I've messed around with (Mudbox) which was used more for organics such as faces and bodies had symmetrical editing. Whatever you changed on one side would be perfectly duplicated on the other side. It was great for major editing and general shapes and was toggle-able so you could then add details to one side that you didn't want on the other so things wouldn't look TOO perfect. Anyway, is there something like this in blender? I can't find any information.
LoginToDownload
You can make use of copy and mirror, but aside from that, I don't think so.
ihateregisteringeverywhere
3Ds max has symetrical editing. Just put a symetry modifier atop of your modifier stack. You can actualy use several of those. Nifty for creating blades symetrical along both the x an y axes.

SickleYield
You can make use of copy and mirror, but aside from that, I don't think so. Use the X-axis mirror edit . ;) It's not where located in that pic, since that's outdated, but it is down and to the right in the edit buttons. It works only if you start with both sides identical. The mirror modifier also works much better than the edit mode mirror function.
ihateregisteringeverywhere
Curses! Don't think this is over! ;DHehehe :P The good thing about having many gimmicks and gizzmo's is that you HAVE manny gimmicks and gizmo's, the bad thing is that it makes the program look intimidating when it's just trying to be friendly :).
