OakRain
It's a minor thing but why did Beth decide to give goats cow horns in their inventories upon death. The inventory image clearly shows cow/ox horn. The lighting objects in game are clearly made from ox/cow horn yet the decision was made to call it goat horn. Why not give cows cow-horn in their inventory? If there were perceived issues with asking players to kill domesticated cows then why not add wild cattle to the game, they would fit perfectly lore wise since domesticated cattle are descended from wild stock. For reference I come from a farming background and for 25 yrs have been a manufacturing artist working with among many other materials ox horn.Trying to make traditional crafted horn objects with goat horns is a non starter - different shape and wrong consistency. sajuukkhar9000
Goat Horns obviously work different in Elder Scrolls then IRL.
Deleted3507349User
It's magic? For the record, I agree with you completely. When I first saw that I rolled my eyes too.
Rennn
It's a subtle joke. Bethesda wanted to imply that the cows are procreating with the goats, and that's why they'll charge dragons. Half cow, half goat, stronger than both.
kare kleven
In RL you can make a flute out of horns and drinking horn. We who have viking blood inside cannot resist to use horns. The myth says the Vikings wear horns on helmets.... some may did that, but that was not common. -Klevs

Relativelybest
I'm pretty sure it was only ceremonial. Or a complete myth. Basically there are a few iron age (migration period) depictions of people wearing horned helmest but actual artifacts are rare. So, they were around a bit earlier than the vikings proper, and are presumed to have mostly served a ceremonial or religiously symbolical role. Anyway, most modern people imagine vikings all wrong to begin with.
