Treehuggerish Posted October 17, 2012 Share Posted October 17, 2012 I'd assume that they're X/Y (or in a lot of 3d apps, U/V) coordinates on a single texture file. Like, all of the flags are on a single texture file, and the UV numbers are coordinates to which part of the texture that is basically a mosaic of all the flags, should be applied to the given soldier. Then the game just needs to load a single texture for all soldier flags instead of one for each soldier on the map. Anyways, that is my assumption. That way the game doesn't have to use as much memory to only load a single image as it would to load each flag individually.
