Need help with PA objects appearing on frame

I am trying to get a custom PA set into the game. I have created the Armor and OMOD records but I have for sure done something wrong because when I go to place the pieces on a frame at a PA workbench, they are invisible. In fact, they don't even appear in the PA frame inventory, it's like they disappear once I place them. I'm guessing it has something to do with the attach point, because as a test when I alter this on other pieces of power armor(T-45 et al), the same thing happens. Cannot figure out what though, gone over it several times and cannot find the error. Does anyone have any idea?

Something I was wondering about, does FURN have any bearing on this, seeing as it only happens when placed on a frame? Dropping the piece on the ground and looking at it from my pipboy inventory display the piece correctly.

Hello amokrun1,

I'm not sure if I understood your problem correctly, but to spawn PA pieces on the frame, you need to create an object template for the each PA pieces and an instantiation filter for them all (the "if_ " keyword you've probably seen in the PA leveled lists), then use a leveled list. Unless you have the if_ keyword for all pieces in object template, your armors won't show up when you put them in leveled list. Open the armor edit window and you can find object template button at the bottom left, and you'll see all the "if_tmp " stuff. You do need to use a leveled list + instantiation filter keyword, instead of placing the PA pieces directly. (It's been a while since I've looked at it, but hopefully I remember it correctly.)

Uh, I think I had things mixed up when I made my post. I think I was thinking about making specific paint job appear on the frame, and that's what the instantiation filter is for, but to just place PA pieces, you only need a leveled list. Directly placing pieces in furniture doesn't work in any case (I think only 1 piece out of the whole set shows if you place them directly).

So I messed with it a bit more, and now I get a texture but the wrong one. What I'm doing is I created a custom set with custom mod categories and custom mods. I've gotten the mod categories to show up perfectly in the crafting menu, but it displays a T-45 texture as opposed to the custom one. I should point out that I perhaps used a primitive method when creating the piece: I simply made a duplicate of a T-45 piece and made my changes to it, so I know the T-45 texture is coming from the duplicate, I just don't know where to look to make it so the correct texture is spawned.

DiodeLadder, are you sure I need to look at LVLI records? Just to compare, I opened the Hellfire X-03(Nexus) mod and I could not find any leveled list entry and those pieces display fine.

Well, I just tested it on my end, and I was totally mistaken about the leveled list thing. :-/ The last time I've worked on PA stuff was a long time ago, so I must have mixed things up. I'm very sorry about that.

About the texture stuff, maybe just double check your material files and material swaps? That should be pretty straight forward I think, so maybe you missed something somewhere? If you find any weird CK quirks or something on the other hand, please let me know.
